CALL TO ORDER
At 2:31 p.m., Vice Chairman Turpin called the meeting to order via teleconference.
ROLL CALL
Elvira Hallinan, Manager, Marinas and Beaches, took roll call and confirmed a quorum.

REGULAR AGENDA
Vice Chairman Turpin thanked David Thornburg for his eight years of dedication serving on
the Marine Advisory Commission.
1. 20-009MA Recommendation to elect a chair and vice-chair of the Marine Advisory
Commission, as required by Long Beach Municipal code section
2.18.060.
A motion was made by Commissioner Mayes, seconded by
Commissioner Kelly, to approve recommendation to elect Vice
Chairman Turpin to Chairman. The motion carried by the
following vote:
Yes: 7 - Camille Daniels, Colin Kelly, Elizabeth Lambe, Theresa
Marino, Tom Mayes, Jo Murray and Mark Turpin
Absent: 1 - Nathaniel Brown
A motion was made by Chairman Turpin, seconded by
Commissioner Lambe, to approve recommendation to elect
Tom Mayes to Vice Chairman. The motion carried by the
following vote:
Yes: 7 - Camille Daniels, Colin Kelly, Elizabeth Lambe, Theresa
Marino, Tom Mayes, Jo Murray and Mark Turpin
Absent: 1 - Nathaniel Brown
2. 20-011MA Recommendation to elect Commission members of the Marine Advisory
Commission; for Finance, Maintenance/Operations, and Tidelands
Capital Projects Committees.

Commissioner Brown joined the teleconference call at 2:38 p.m.
A discussion ensued. The Commissioners requested to be on the following
Sub-Committees:
Executive Committee: Chairman Turpin, Vice Chairman Mayes
Finance Committee: Vice Chairman Mayes, Commissioner Marino
Maintenance/Operations Committee: Chairman Turpin,
Commissioner Brown, Commissioner Murray.
The Committee will now meet quarterly.
Tidelands Capital Projects Committee: Commissioner Daniels,
Commissioner Kelly, Commissioner Lambe.
A motion was made by Vice Chairman Mayes, seconded by
Commissioner Daniels, to approve recommendation. The
motion carried by the following vote:
Yes: 8 - Nathaniel Brown, Camille Daniels, Colin Kelly, Elizabeth
Lambe, Theresa Marino, Tom Mayes, Jo Murray and Mark

APPROVAL OF MINUTES
3. 20-008MA Recommendation to approve the Marine Advisory Commission minutes
for the meeting held on Thursday, February 13, 2020.
A motion was made by Commissioner Marino, seconded by
Chairman Turpin, to approve recommendation. The motion
carried by the following vote:

MANAGER'S REPORT TO COMMISSION
4. 20-010MA Recommendation to receive and file the Manager's monthly oral
updates.
Elvira Hallinan, Manager, Marinas and Beaches, provided an operational
update, and financial revenue review.
Marine Maintenance
Eric Woodson, Superintendent, Marine Maintenance reviewed the following
topics:
· Swim line buoys at Mother’s Beach.
· Signage updates throughout Shoreline Marina.
· Restroom plumbing and water supply line updates in Shoreline
Marina.
Commissioner Murray spoke.

Beach Maintenance
Cory Forrester, Superintendent, Beach Maintenance gave the following brief
update:
· Berm review.
· Trash update.
· Queensway Bay review.
· Peninsula update.

· Reviewed the number of calls for service.
· Homeless, restroom checks.
· Stolen vehicle from Redondo Beach
· Five trainees.
LBFD - Marine Safety/Lifeguards
None.
A motion was made by Chairman Turpin, seconded by
Commissioner Daniels, to approve recommendation. The
motion carried by the following vote:
