The joint meeting of the Water Replenishment District Board of Directors and the Long Beach Board of Water Commissioners, was called to order at 11:20 A.M. by John Allen, President of the Water Replenishment District Board of Directors. DETERMINATION OF A QUORUM President Allen called for a roll call of the Water Replenishment District Board of Diriectors, and the Board members of the Long Beach Board of Water Commissioners. Tenisha Simeon, WRD Administraitve Specialist to the Water Replenishment Board of Directors took the roll call. Water Replenishment District President, John Allen; Vice President, Vera Robles DeWitt ; Treasurer, Rob Katherman were present. (Note: Director Willlard H. Murray, Jr. joined the meeting at 11:35 A.M.) Long Beach Board of Water Commission President, Harry Saltzgaver; Vice President, Frank Martinez; Secretary, Art Levine; Commissioner, Robert Shannon and Commissioner, Gloria Corfdero were present. Also present: Water Replenishment District General Manager, Robb Whitaker; Tenisha Simeon WRD Administrative Specialist; Long Beach Water Department General Manager, Christopher Garner; Long Beach Water Department Assistant General Manager, Anatole Falagan and Long Beach Water Department Assistant General Manager - Operations, Tai Tseng; Sandra Fox, Executive Assistant to the Board. INVOCATION President John Allen gave the invocation. PUBLIC COMMENT - PURSUANT TO GOVERNMENT CODE 54954.3 President Allen opened the public comment period. As there was no public comment, the public comment period was closed. INTRODUCTORY COMMENTS BY ROBB WHITAKER, GENERAL MANAGER OF WATER REPLENISHMENT DISTRICT Harry Saltzgaver, President of the Board of Water Comissioners provided introductory comments. John Allen, President of the Water Replenishment Board of Directors provided introductory comments. Robb Whitaker, General Manager of the Water Replenishment District also made introductory comments. Director Katherman spoke. Commissioner Shannon spoke. Mr. Tai Tseng answered questions related to recycled water. President Saltzgaver spoke. President Allen commented on the schedule for Los Angeles County Sanitation District plant maintenance. Commissioner Cordero spoke. Mr. Robb Whitaker provided a report regarding the Leo Vander Lans plant operation, and future opportunities (including development of sustainable local supplies developed with other local agencies). President Saltzgaver inquired about plans to capture stormwater. Mr. Whitaker responded. Mr. Robb Whitaker provided a presentation regarding the status and success of the Water Replenishment District Albert Robles Center. President Allen spoke. Commissioner Martinez spoke. Commissioner Levine inquired about the cost for the Albert Robles Cener. Mr. Whitaker responded. Commissioner Cordero spoke. President Allen spoke. Mr. Garner provided comments. Mr. Whitaker provided comments. President Saltzgaver made comments regarding the importance of cross-communication between the agencies. Commissioner Martinez spoke regarding the importance of a collaborative process between the agencies. Commissioner Levine spoke. Director Murray inquired about the Long Beach Water Department's involvement with groundwater. Mr. Garner responded. Director Katherman spoke. President Allen made closing remarks. ADJOURNMENT President Allen adjourned the Joint Meeting of the Water Replenishment District Board of Directors and the Long Beach Water Commission at 12:22 P.M. to the January 2020 meetings for the Water Replenishment District Board of Directors and Long Beach Board of Water Commissioners.
