CITY COUNCIL SPECIAL MEETING MINUTES
June 20, 2024
The Lonoke City Council held a special city council meeting in the administration room of City Hall at
5:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 20, 2024. Mayor Wayne McGee called the meeting to order. Mayor McGee
asked City Clerk, Jeribeth Edwards to call the roll. City Clerk Jeribeth Edwards called the roll and declared
a quorum.

Visitors- Matt Boyles, Janette Boyles and Cindy Reaves
1. Discussion on how to Resolve the Construction of a Large Accessory building built over
sewer main- Ginger Stuart explained to the council that the owners of the property, Matt
and Janette Boyles, had a building built over a sewer main. It was discussed that the
Boyles’ had notice from the City of Lonoke that the sewer main was present before the
building was built, and the building was built regardless. The council discussed options
for the Boyles’ regarding the building. After some discussion with the council and the
Boyles, Jim Ed Ransom made a motion for Ginger Stuart to draft a letter from the City of
Lonoke. The Boyles’ will be responsible for any repairs to their building if there is ever a
problem with the sewer main. Wendell Walker seconded the motion. Motion carried.
2. Approval of contract for engineering services for ACEDP grant received for sewer
repairs- Jim Ed Ransom made a motion to approve the contract. Wendell Walker
seconded the motion. Motion carried.
3. Approval to repair EV Chargers as per grant requirements- The council discussed that
the chargers must stay maintained and usable for five (5) years. Jim Ed Ransom made a
motion to spend $13,688.74 with Lumatech to fix the chargers. Sean Simpson seconded
the motion. Motion carried.
