Lonoke City Council Lonoke City Council Meeting April 13, 2026 The Lonoke City Council held a city council meeting at the multiple building at 6:00 p.m. Monday April 13, 2026. Mayor Wayne McGee called the meeting to order with the Invocation was given by Efrem Jones, Brown Street Church of Christ. City Clerk, Jeribeth Edwards called the roll and declared a quorum. (Vacant) News Media none Visitors: Brett Bunch, Rachel Whittenburg, and Cindy Reaves Minutes: Mayor Wayne McGee asked for the acceptance of March 9th council minutes. Jim Ed Ransom made a motion to accept the minutes as read. Jane Derning seconded the motion. Motion carried. PUBLIC COMMENT: Wes Rowton with Natural State Tree Service was present and asked to put a flyer in the water bill explaining the days they will be present in town. LONOKE COUNTY LIBRARY: A calendar to show the April activities was presented. BUDGET/FINANCE- A. Review Monthly Financials- Jane Derning made a motion to approve the financials. Raymond Hatton seconded the motion. Motion carried. COMMUNITY CENTER: Mr. Mike Brown was present and gave report. The events are Baptist health van. A. Approve A-Plus Builders as low bidder on bathrooms- Bid Tabulation sheet has been presented. A Plus Builders was the lowest bidder at $129,350.00. Jim Ed Ransom made a motion to approve the lowest bid. Sean Simpson seconded the motion. Motion carried. FIRE DEPARTMENT: Chief Whittenburg was absent. Danny Whitehurst gave report. A Quote from J&R to install fire hydrant on dead end main on Dismukes- Jim Ed Ransom made a motion to spend $8,000.00 to install a new fire hydrant. Raymond Hatton seconded the motion. Motion carried. POLICE DEPARTMENT: Chief Keith Graham was present and gave the report. PARKS AND MOSQUITO: Director Johnathan Curry was present and gave report. OLD BUISNESS A. Solar Array Site Production report- no action NEW BUSINESS: A. Resolution 4-1-2026- “A resolution expressing the willingness of City of Lonoke, Ar to utilize federal-aid transportation alternatives program or recreational trials program funds” (Reginal Trail Project)- Jim Ed Ransom made a motion to put Res. 4-1-2026 on the floor. Raymond Hatton seconded the motion. Motion carried. Ginger Stuart read Resolution 4-1-2026 in its entirety. Sean Simpson made the motion to adopt Resolution 4-1-2026. Jim Ed Ransom seconded the motion. Motion carried. B. Resolution 4-2-2026- “A resolution expressing the willingness of City of Lonoke, Ar to utilize federal-aid transportation alternatives program or recreational trials program funds” (Multi-Use path lighting on SUP)- Sean Simpson made a motion to put Res. 4-2-2026 on the floor. Dale Carothers seconded the motion. Motion carried. Ginger Stuart read Res. 4-2-2026 in its entirety. Jane Derning made the motion to adopt Resolution 4-2-2026. Wendell Walker seconded the motion. Motion carried. C. Resolution 4-3-2026- “A resolution amending the 2025 operating budget for the fiscal year 2025; Appropriating the various amounts herein; and for other purposes”- Sean Simpson made a motion to put Res. 4-3-2026 on the floor. Dale Carothers seconded the motion. Motion carried. Ginger Stuart read Res. 4-3-2026 in its entirety. Jane Derning made the motion to adopt Resolution 4-3-2026. Wendell Walker seconded the motion. Motion carried. APRROVAL TO PAY BILLS: Jane Derning made a motion to pay bills. Jim Ed Ransom seconded the motion. Motion carried.
