Cahuenga Boulevard Corridor Specific Plan (Ordinance No.174,052) to permit the
legalization of the installation of three illuminated wall signs in the canopy faces in
addition to the two existing permitted building wall signs (i.e., one 17.7 square-foot
wall sign along a building’s primary street frontage on Ventura Boulevard and one
18 square foot wall sign facing a secondary street, Vineland Avenue);
PROJECT PERMIT COMPLIANCE, pursuant to Section 11.5.7.C of the LAMC, with
the Ventura-Cahuenga Boulevard Corridor Specific Plan.
PROJECT: Installation of three (3) illuminated 33-inch diameter logo signs to
fueling canopy faces.

AN APPEAL, of the Advisory Agency’s decision in approving a AA-2006-2601 PMLA
reate three single-family parcels from two lots totaling 68,900 square feet (1.6 acre).

The President opened the public hearing.
Appellant spoke for the appeal and read a letter from Walnut Acres Neighborhood
Association dated March 20, 2007 supporting the appeal.
Five other speakers supported the appeal.
Applicant’s representative spoke for the project.
Applicant’s representative and the appellant rebutted.
Council District representative did not take position; however, made it clear that his office
wants the applicant to adhere to all the requirements as contained in the Conditions
of Approval.
The President closed the public hearing.
The Commission deliberated.
Motion: Grant the appeal; overturn the action of the Planning staff
contained
in the Advisory Agency’s letter dated February 14, 2007, disapprove
AA-2006-2601-PMLA; adopt modified Findings.

6. PUBLIC COMMENT PERIOD
The Area Planning Commission shall provide an opportunity in open meetings for the
public to address it, on items of interest to the public that are within the subject matter
jurisdiction of the Area Planning Commission. (This requirement is in addition to any other
hearing required or imposed by law.) Persons making requests are encouraged to do so
in writing and should submit 10 copies to the Area Planning Commission for its
consideration.
Persons wishing to speak must submit a speaker’s request form prior to the
commencement of the public comment period.
Individual testimony within the public comment period shall be limited to five (5) minutes
per person and up to ten (10) minutes per subject.
The next regular meeting of the South Valley Area Planning Commission
will be held at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 12, 2007
at the Marvin Braude Constituent Center
