AIRPORT 2021 FUEL SALES REVIEW. Acting Director/City Engineer Pezeshk
reported JetA is currently $2.99/gallon. 100LL is $4.25/gallon. In a 50-mile radius, are
currently cheapest in price for JetA fuel and 3rd lowest for the 100LL. In March 2021,
we sold $9,801.51, compared to $19,193.60 in March 2020. Our prices remain
competitive. Commissioner Blevins asked why there was such an increase in sales
during the months of March and April 2020. Acting Director/City Engineer stated that
PG&E was doing some power pole surveying, but we will pull fuel sales logs to see if we
can determine who was purchasing large amounts of fuel during that time.
AIRPORT 2020/20121 REVENUE/EXPENDITURE UPDATE. Acting Director/City
Engineer Pezeshk reviewed the budget reports and stated overall, the budget is on
track, and holding steady. We recently received notification that we have been granted
the annual CAAP grant of $10,000 to spend on general maintenance expenses.
ACTING PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR/CITY ENGINEER REPORT. Acting Director/City
Engineer Pezeshk reported that we have recently moved into a different Covid tier, so
as the situation improves, we will be working on coordinating an airport tour. We
continue to mow and spray for weeds.
COMMISSION MEMBER REPORTS.
BLEVINS: Is interested in finding out who was purchasing all the fuel during those high
months last year.
KING: Has the City looked into contacting CalFire to set up our airport as a station
during fire season? Acting Public Works Director/City Engineer Pezeshk said the City
does not have a formal contract with CalFire. Chairperson Anderson stated that CalFire
uses several airports nearby, including Castle in Atwater.
LEONARDO: CalFire uses Hollister as a home base, so they may not need our airport
for anything other than to fuel or do minor repairs.
REED: Is the heliport at the hospital considered to be part of our airport? Acting Public
Works Director/City Engineer Pezeshk stated that it is not part of our airport.
ANDERSON: Looks forward to meeting in person by June or July, and is looking
forward to the airport tour later this summer. Suggested that Fred reach out to the local
Battalion Chief of CalFire and let them know that they are free to use the airport for the
rest of fire season.
ADJOURNMENT: Chairperson Anderson adjourned the meeting at the hour of 5:34
p.m.
