Adjournment Posted: June 11, 2015  Los Banos Unified School District/City of Los Banos 2x3 Meeting Minutes Monday, May 18, 2015 4:00 p.m. City Hall The meeting was called to order at 4:02 p.m. Call to Order Present: LBUSD: Assistant Superintendent Pat Atkins (for Steve Tietjen), Roll Call Board Member Dennis Areias, Board Member Marlene Smith, Board Member John Mueller, City Manager Steve Carrigan, Council Member Tom Faria, Mayor Mike Villalta Absent: Superintendent Steve Tietjen On Motion by Member Faria, seconded by Member Areias, the Committee Approval of approved the agenda as submitted. Ayes: Areias, Atkins, Carrigan, Faria, Agenda Smith, Villalta; Noes 0, Absent: Tietjen. Motion carried. No one came forward and the public forum was closed at 4:04 p.m. Public Forum On Motion by Member Mueller, seconded by Member Areias, the Committee Approval of approved the minutes from the April 20, 2015 meeting. Ayes: Areias, Atkins, Minutes Carrigan, Faria, Smith, Villalta; Noes 0, Absent: Tietjen. Motion carried. Mr. Atkins provided the “look ahead schedule” that the project superintendent Discussion/Update: presented to Trustees at the May 14th Board meeting. Mr. Atkins said the New Junior High project superintendent is very good about keeping everyone informed School regarding the progress of the project each month. Mr. Carrigan said that due to his concern regarding construction noise levels, he visited the site one morning at 4:00 a.m. and was very impressed with how quiet it was. He said that the city has received no complaints from residents living in the area. Mr. Mueller stated that he too had visited the site around the same time. He found it to be very quiet and that the site is clean. Mr. Carrigan said the annexation process is moving along and should be going Discussion/Update: to the Planning Commission in June and the Counsel in late September for Presidential East approval. Annexation Mr. Carrigan provided an update on details of the City’s water conservation Discussion/Update: program. City staff went door-to-door handing out flyers and explaining the Water Conservation new restrictions. They received one complaint so far. They hope to reduce water usage by 35%. They will know within the next two weeks whether a significant conservation has been made or if fines need to be enforced. They are looking into drought resistant landscaping, but unfortunately there is no money allocated for a project of that nature. Mr. Mueller stated that he has received numerous calls from renters asking him to reset their sprinkler system timers.  Other: Mr. Carrigan requested 2x3 meetings be changed to the third Tuesday of the Change meeting month due to a scheduling conflict with the City’s EDAC meetings. This dates would make the next 2x3 meeting June 16th at LBUSD. Mr. Areias asked about the pool status. Mr. Carrigan said that he would have Pool Status more information at the next meeting.
