Mr. Fachin stated that the state compares current usage to that of 2013. It does not take into consideration that the town has grown or schools have been built. Mayor Villalta provided an update regarding the increase sales tax on the June ballot. MCAG has discussed a ½ % sales tax increase to be used for public transportation/roads. Mr. Villalta expressed concern on how this would benefit Los Banos, stating he does not support a sales tax that does not directly support Los Banos. He stated that he is proposing a consortium between Los Banos, Dos Palos and Gustine. He feels the money on the Westside should stay on the Westside. Mr. Carrigan stated ½% sales tax will not pass without the Los Banos vote. He stated that if Los Banos does not support the increase it will not pass. The meeting was adjourned at 4:50 P.M.
