The Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Commission of the Town of Los Gatos conducted a
special meeting in person in the Town Council Chambers on Thursday, May 14, 2026, at 5:00
p.m.
CALL MEETING TO ORDER
The meeting was called to order at 5:01 p.m.
ROLL CALL
Commissioners Present: Chair Gordon Yamate, Vice Chair Diane Fisher, and Commissioners
Tooba Ahmed, Lynn Bruno, D. Michael Kane, Joy Su, Anne Lamborn, and Gregory Gentile.
Commissioner Carmen Lo attended until 6:06 p.m.
Commissioners Absent: None.
Youth Commission Liaisons Present: Nia Khanna arrived at 6:07 p.m.
Youth Commission Liaisons Absent: Wilbur Huang.
Town Staff Present: Assistant Town Manager Katy Nomura and Senior Management Analyst
Holly Young.

COMMISSIONER/STAFF LIAISON REPORTS
Chair Yamate reported that he attended TWW Indivisible Los Gatos meetings, spoke at an event
regarding the internment of Japanese-Americans at the Menlo Park Library, and met with the
Los Gatos Chamber of Commerce regarding the Handwriting the Constitution project.
Commissioner Ahmed reported that there is a Los Gatos Interfaith Community Meeting on May
28.
Commissioner Lamborn reported that the Arts and Culture Commission is working on having art
in the Council Chambers and public art projects, she attended a Democracy Tent meeting, spent
a week in Guatemala visiting indigenous communities, and that former DEI Commissioner
Folake Phillis received a Woman of the Year award.
Commissioner Gentile reported that the Community Health and Senior Services Commission is
working on senior transportation issues and he attended a West Valley Community Services
meeting.

Commissioner Kane reported that he passed out business cards, met with Commissioner
Gentile regarding the 4th of July, and that there will be an Africa Day celebration on May 23.
Youth Commission Liaison Khanna reported that she will attend DEI Commission meetings
during the summer in her personal capacity.
Vice Chair Fisher, Commissioner Su, Commissioner Bruno, and Staff Liaison Young had no
reports.

HOW TO PARTICIPATE
The Town of Los Gatos strongly encourages your active participation in the public process. If you
are interested in providing oral comments during the meeting, you must attend in-person,
complete a speaker’s card, and return it to the staff. If you wish to speak to an item on the
agenda, please list the item number on the speaker card. The time allocated to speakers may
change to better facilitate the meeting. If you are unable to attend the meeting in-person, you
are welcome to submit written comments via email to clerk@losgatosca.gov.
Public Comment During the Meeting:
When called to speak, please limit your comments to three (3) minutes, or such other time as the
Chair may decide, consistent with the time limit for speakers at a Town meeting.
Speakers at public meetings may be asked to provide their name and to state whether they are a
resident of the Town of Los Gatos. Providing this information is not required.
