APPROVED 6.5.24 BOH MEETING PRESENT: Jo-Ann Keegan, Chairperson William Galvin, III Board Member Erin Gendron, Board Member Alison Keegan, Board Member Lisa Golden, HHS Director Cesar Pungirum, Tobacco Control Director Kathleen Cullen-Lutter - Absent Board of Health Chairperson Jo-Ann Keegan called May 1, 2024 meeting of the Board of Health to order at 6:01PM 5/1/2024 - Minutes 1. NEW BUSINESS 1.I. For Acceptance: Minutes of the April 3, 2024 Meeting of the Lowell Board of Health Motion: To accept the minutes of the April 3, 2024 meeting of the Lowell Board of Health made by Erin Gendron, seconded by Alison Keegan. All in favor. 1.II. For Review: Monthly Development Services Reports submitted by Sr. Sanitary Code Inspector Jimmy Le Senior Sanitary Code Inspector Jimmy Le reviewed the reports with the Board. Board Member William Galvin would like to make sure restaurants with failing inspections aren’t because of the same reasons as prior failures. Sr. Inspector Le updated the Board on the repairs being done in the schools. 1.III. For Review: PrideStar EMS, Inc. Reports and Notifications submitted by Jon Kelley Mr. Jon Kelley, Pridestar EMS, and Mr. Casey, LGH Paramedics, were present. Mr. Kelley informed the Board that Pridestar received a grant from Tufts Hospital and the First Watch Program so Pridestar EMS can attempt to expand the program into other municipalities. Board Member Galvin asked that the Opioid Monthly Report totals be moved to the top of the page from the bottom. Mr. Kelley will do that. Mr. Kelley and Mr. Casey Rainville reviewed the quarterly report with the Board. Mr. Kelley noted the changes to page 20-22 to try to make the information more easily understood. Board Member Galvin indicated that he would like to see page 21 every quarter. Mr. Kelley will include the three pages over the next couple of quarterly reports and then revise the format if necessary. 1.IV. Body Art Practitioner License - 2024 Body Art License - Tattooing Only Name Address License Type Establishment Paid Areyel Dias 2 Colwell Ave Apt 13 Tattoo and Piercing Blaqsheep, Inc. Informational: CSX Pan Am Railways 2024 Yearly Operational Plan The Board accepted and placed on file. 2. OLD BUSINESS No agenda items under Old Business 3. DIRECTOR'S REPORT 3.I. Departmental and Divisional Reports and Updates Health Director Lisa Golden updated the Board on the reports and updates, noting the Unwanted Medication Take-Back Day held in April had 91 cars come through with 216 pounds of unwanted medication collected. Director Golden informed the Board that another one will be held in June to coincide with the end of the school year. Director Golden updated the Board regarding the families being sheltered at the Inn & Conference Center and the DPH sponsored immunization clinic that the Public Health Nurses will be assisting with. Board Member William Galvin recognized Dr. Peter Connolly, the Health Department’s long-term Medical Consultant who recently passed, for all his hard work and dedication to the citizens of Lowell. 4.
