Motion: Motion by C. Mercier, seconded by C. Elliott to appropriate and dedicate Roberto Clemente Field at Koumantzelis Park and refer to the Board of Parks. Adopted per Roll Call vote, 9 yeas. So voted. ITEM 2: Mill City Grows Mill City Grows and the McAvinnue School are partnering to create a School Community Garden at Father Maguire Park in 2017. The proposed site of the garden is where the volleyball court was previously sited. When the court was relocated last fall, Tom Bellegarde approached Mill City Grows about using the site for a school or community garden. Instead of hydroseeding the area, wood chips were spread to mark the footprint of the to-be garden. It was proposed that in Year 1 (2017) 5 garden beds are constructed to serve as a school garden for the McAvinnue School across the street. McAvinnue has secured a grant from Aramark to support the purchase of the materials. In future years, they would like to add additional beds to be made available to school families and neighbors. Additional features of the garden in Year 1 would include fencing, water, a shed and garden seating and artwork. Mill City Grows has already met with fencing contractors to create a quote for a 6’ chain link fence, and have applied for corporate sponsorship funds to cover this cost. This week they met with representatives from the Lowell Water Department about running an irrigation box to the site, and they are ready to begin work immediately. Ryan Rourke  ITEM 4: Mark Cibulski – Greater Lowell Baseball Association Requesting to change permit approved by Recreation for O’Donnell Park – Melissa Desroches Frank Ryan Senior League Field and Campbell Field. The original permit date was for (Tuesday, Thursday and Friday ) April 20, 2017 to December 22, 2017 totaling a $1,700.00 fee. The requested change is for April 26, 2017 to August 20, 2017.
