Items for Discussion a. New Business 1. Welcome and introductions, COA Board / outreach partner staff Attending: Lil Hartman, Mary Donnelly, Andy Hostetler, Amy Pessia, Seila Chuop (CMAA), Eunice Wanjiru (CTI), Glady Rosa 2. Overview of outreach efforts during pandemic a. Newsletter reaches 1600 households with copies at senior center b. Phone outreach to hundreds of seniors by staff/partner team c. National Night Out parade d. Phone Pals – as wellness calls, recruiting volunteers, partnering with Senior Companion Program (SCP) at CTI (Sandy Phomveha). We have 3 paired now, positive feedback so far. Follow-ups by staff. e. Amy Pessia connected us with Dorcas for Phone Pals promotion on WCAP radio 3. Brainstorm next steps to promote senior participation a. Newspaper article in Lowell Sun about Phone Pals, meals, virtual exercise opportunities. Amy will send Dan Phelps contact information. b. Connecting with seniors is important during isolation, ReachOutMA messaging for newsletter c. Place a copy of the newsletter in mobile pantry bags? Get copies to Amy Pessia (or one pager) each month 200 copies. How to expand our phone outreach list? e. Early Voting location – sign at the desk or on wall near dining room door, at the meal takeout door. To make on chart paper with Seila, Glady, Amy. Promoting Phone Pals and meals. II. Other Next outreach meeting: in the phone pals interactions, we want to find out what people are having challenges with. Isolation is one, what service connections are we making? Cambodian diet – UTEC option. Rice, canned protein and fresh vegetables going to them through food bank. Lil and Amy to review UTEC packages with Seila. Lil and Seila to email Derek about potential meals on wheels follow-up in Khmer. III. Adjournment Remote Participation: Pursuant to Governor Baker's Emergency Order modifying the State's Open Meeting Law issued March 12, 2020, meetings will be held using remote participation as follows: those wishing to speak regarding a specific agenda item shall register to speak in advance of the meeting with Lil Hartman indicating the agenda item and a phone number to call so that you may be tele-conferenced in to the meeting.
