Outreach and Healthy Aging Committee met. Age Friendly Lowell project is moving
forward. First steps include Older Adult Action Group: advisory group for the
project made up of a diverse group of seniors. Recruitment is key. Up to 25
people. Will convene early in the new year. They’ll decide on their mission, name,
the idea is for them to be involved in every aspect from nuts to bolts. Lil and Andy
prepared a flyer, received feedback from committee to start advertising, also
developed volunteer job description. National Night Out was fun, did a car parade
from the Elks Lodge to Cawley Stadium with 15 cars, festive. Rush hour (not ideal
time), not many waiting but folks happened to see them. Consider fall harvest
parade on a Saturday afternoon.
