Lowell Cultural Council Tuesday, March 27, 2018, 6:30pm Mayor’s Reception Room, Lowell City Hall In attendance: Maxine Farkas, Laura Frye, Christina Khem, Fru Nkimbeng, Jerry Bisantz, Joe Pyne, Marianna Wood, Olu Ibrahim, Chay Pin, Bianca Mauro, Roberto Dei (administrator) I. Reimbursements: Maxine and Bianca signed one reimbursement form II. Presentation to City Council: a. Lowell City Council member Karen Cirillo added the following motion to City Council’s agenda on March 28, 2018: Request for City Manager to have proper department include line item in city budget to supplement yearly allocation from Massachusetts Cultural Council to include an allocation for the Lowell Cultural Council b. Council discussed Maxine Farkas’ speaking points in favor of motion III. Reception a. Thursday, March 29 in the Parker Gallery at Whistler House from 6-8pm i. Set-up will begin around 1pm b. Program: i. Maxine to welcome attendees no later than 6:30pm ii. Invitation for Lowell City Manager and Massachusetts Cultural Council representative to speak iii. Invitation for all 2018 grantees to speak for 2 minutes regarding their projects c. Use #ArtsinLowell to promote event IV. Community Input Meeting a. Tuesday, April 24, 2018 6:30-8pm at Mayor’s Reception Room in City Hall b. Christina will create a Facebook event to promote meeting i. Please share with your Facebook friends c. Marianna to facilitate a discussion with attendees regarding next year’s funding priorities. V. Upcoming Events: a. 2018 Grantee Reception: Thursday, March 29 6-8 at Whistler House b.
