Guests: Geulmi Espinal (Massachusetts Cultural Council); Meghan Rourke Absent: Bianca Mauro; Jerry Bisantz The meeting was called to order at 6:38 PM. 1. Duffey updated the Council on CASE activities a. CASE and community partners are launching a new festival around public art: VIBE Fest. Kick-off is Wednesday, June 29th from 4:30-6:30PM at UTEC. Duffey encouraged Council members to attend. Kick-off meant to engage community leaders and see what ideas folks have. i. VIBE= Voices and Images Bridging Experiences ii. Hoping to have events throughout August and September. b. CASE will need a mural permit approved by Council and Duffey will send Council members information when she has it. i. Mural permits will have been previously approved by the Lowell Historic Board. 2. Duffey introduced Geulmi Espinal from the Massachusetts Cultural Council. He is in the first month of his new job with MCC and is looking forward to working with Council members. 3. Voting for Officers: Slate a. Co-chair: Noel. b. Secretary: Karke. c. Treasurer: Ibrahim will serve as interim treasurer but would like someone else to take on the role. d. Vote on Slate: Ibrahim (Interim Treasurer); Pyne (Chair); Karke (Secretary); Noel (Co- Chair) i. Motion to vote for slate as proposed and seconded. ii. All in Favor: 7 iii. All Opposed: 0 iv. Motion passes; slate approved. 4. Community Survey Updates a. 45 responses received so far. b. Survey sent out to every grantee and also goes out in CASE newsletters every week; the mailing list is 5000 people. c. Noel suggested emailing last year’s grant recipients and to check to see if organizations are on the email list to disseminate to their own lists. d. Duffey to email MOSAIC. e. Espinal suggested reaching out to religious communities and local schools. f. Duffey will create a Google sheet and send it to everyone for Council members to add contact information. 5.
