Lowell Cultural Council Meeting Minutes Aug 27, 2024 Attending: Erin Duffey (Administrator); Rona Gofstein; Beth Noel; Kshitij Karke (KK); Chanmony Huot; Bethanne Welch; Meghan Stebbins; The meeting was called to order at 6:33 PM. 1. Update Guidelines for 2025 Granting (Due August 31) ● Festival Responses (Top 6) ● Performing Arts, Visual Mixed Media, Music performance (Top 3) ● Youth Programming, Historical and Cultural, Elder Programming ● Applications will be accepted for projects taking place between January 1 and December 31, 2025 ● The deadline for receipt of online applications is 11:59 pm, Monday, October 16th ● FY2025 Local Guidelines 2. Artisan Market – Council-initiated programming (September 28) ● Advertise on social media ● 17 people have applied so far ● Beth will reach out to organizations that can support youth vendors as long as they are accompanied by an adult ● We can have 30 folks ● Will be sharing on Inside Lowell and the 5-minute read in the Lowell Sun ● We will volunteer to help people load in and out at Mill No. 5 3. Grantee reception planning (September 12) ● 8 people have registered ● Volunteers start at 6:30 ● A reminder to folks will be sent on September 4th ● Meeting with Joel (event vendor) for tables ● Food: ○ Large antipast tray ○ meat & cheese tray ○ Veggie & fruit tray ○ Cookie tray ● Erin will reach out to the mayor and other city council folks along with Greg from MCC 4.
