Meeting took place on October 7, 2020 via conference call.

Call to Order
o Meeting was called to order by Donna Richards at 5:36 PM.
Acceptance of / Amendment to Agenda
o The agenda was unanimously approved on a motion by Linda Kilbride and seconded by Helen
Littlefield.
Meeting Minutes –
o A change was requested to the minutes of 9/16. The budget cut was 19.15% not 19.5%.
o The meeting minutes from 9/2/20 and 9/16/20 were unanimously accepted with the change
on a motion by Donna Richards and seconded by Helen Littlefield.
Library Status
Schedule same as last time, 42 hours, Vicky requested to go open from 9am -9pm Monday through
Thursday and 9am – 5pm on Friday and Saturday. Tuesday is the only evening open for walk-ins,
curbside pickup, and remote help other evenings,
Friday and Saturday will be curbside and remote help only.
MBLC not going to complain if library hours are shorted due to the current COVID crisis.
Will know November how much library state aide we are getting
Hiring freeze started before the end of FY 20, If the job is essential it will be filled, but other jobs
cannot be posted.
Library budget status
o Victoria turned in letter to the CFO. He will put in the request to transfer funds from
managers fund to the library at the next city council meeting.
o Waiver will be sent in soon by the end of this week
Chairperson’s Report (Donna Richards)
o We all received an email from MBLC for the fall 2020 trustee orientation, updated. Donna
suggests anyone who can attend one of the presentations please do so. Donna will send
email to the trustees
o Mico Kaufman estate wants to make a gift to the library, plaster cast used to make Christos
Rouses memorial little boy,
o $750 to transport, the cost to display has not been determined.
o Vote to accept gift and cost of transport: Ann Mulhern abstain, 5 in favor, motion passes
o Motion made by Donna Richards, seconded by Linda Kilbride
Directors Report (Victoria Woodley)
Victoria prepared the 10-7-2002 Director’s Report and distributed by email.
o There were no questions
o Monthly budget report will be sent later
Foundation Report (Donna Richards)
o Met 9-16-2020, reviewed author night with Jenna Blum, made money. Annual appeal letter is
at the printer will be coming out soon. Spring author night, planning on a virtual, meet again
10-21-2020.
o Chair is meeting Friday with staff to spend money.
Friends of the Library Report (Helen Littlefield)
o There was a meeting 9-27-2020. Finances have not changed, no expenses, no fundraisers.
Dropping the discovery museum pass based on use. Most museums have frozen their passes,
the Friends are planning a membership drive, they may up the fees. Currently they are asking
less than surrounding cities. They are thinking of perhaps having a DVD sale because they
received 150 sellable DVDs in October. Next meeting in October, date to be decided.
Old business
o Going forward we would have a framework where we would have budget information quickly.
Need more information about what Sy was asking?
o Hold pickups appointments changed so you can give the library one-hour time frame when
picking up

o The meeting was adjourned at 6:29 PM on a motion by Donna Richards and seconded by Helen
Littlefield. All in attendance were in favor
o The next meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, November 4, 2020 at 5:30pm

do not have email access, you can also call 978-674-1525 for the meeting information.
