Burch Civility: Being "civil" is not a restraint on the First Amendment right to speak out, but it is more than just being polite. Civility is stating your opinions and beliefs, without degrading someone else in the process. Civility requires a person to respect other people's opinions and beliefs even if he or she strongly disagrees. It is finding a common ground for dialogue with others. It is being patient, graceful, and having a strong character. That's why we say "Character Counts" in Town of Loxahatchee. Civility is practiced at all Town meetings. The RETAG Advisory Committee generally meets on the 4th Thursday of each month subject to the direction of the Town Council. The December meeting is rescheduled due to Christmas Holidays. Equestrian Trail Signage: The Town Council has determined that the ponds within the Groves Town Center Equestrian Trail are for drainage and surface water management only; horses are to be prohibited from entering the ponds. In addition, it has been reported that motorized vehicles are using the trails. These vehicles are to be excluded. Staff has asked the RETAG Advisory Committee to recommend models for trail signs at Groves Town Center. The Palm Beach County Parks Department has provided examples for review by the Committee. (REF: ATTACHMENT A): NOTE: IF YOU HAVE EXAMPLES, PLEASE BRING THEM WITH YOU TO THE MEETING. • Prohibition of horses in the trail ponds • Prohibition of motorized vehicles eecbobee Blvd. Overlay Signage- Rural Vista Guidelines signs recommendations are presented on ATTACHMENT B-2) The Overlay (i.e. properties fronting Okeechobee Boulevard) is currently within the AR Zoning District which has its own sign regulations (REF: ATTACHMENT B-7). However, several of the uses proposed for the Overlay are more commercial (i.e. CL and CLO Zoning Districts) in nature. The Commercial Zoning Districts (REF: ATTACHMENT B8 to B11) have their own sign regulations. Staff has requested input from the RETAG Advisory Committee regarding which, if any, of the signs permitted in the Commercial (CL and CLO) zoning districts should be allowed for businesses locating along Okeechobee Boulevard within the Overlay.
