The City of Luna Pier operates under rules of parliamentary procedure, which states, “Citizens have the right to
attend the meetings and be permitted to address the body on matters that are relevant to business. Citizens must
observe all of the rules that are set. Members of the public attending the meetings of the governmental body DO
NOT have the right to interrupt or heckle. During public comment time, they have the right to ask to be heard by
requesting permission of the body through the Mayor. All questions, comments and remarks must ALWAYS be
addressed through the Mayor.” Public Comment time is just that—an opportunity for the public to comment. It is
NOT a time for a debate, exchange of ideas, or opportunity to harass board members, all of which will not be
permitted at the City of Luna Pier Council meetings.
11. Council Action Needed:
A. Police Secretary increase in hours
A proposed motion to approve/deny the increase in Police Secretary
Ruth Lape’s hours from 4 to 7 per week. Increasing the secretary line
item by ($2185.00) two thousand one hundred and eighty five dollars
that will be taken from the Police budget equipment maintenance line,
as presented, waiving the reading
B. Special Event Permit Application-Veteran’s Day Parade
A proposed motion to approve/deny the Special Event Application for
Veteran’s Day Parade for November 6, 2021, starting at 12:00 pm till
1:30 pm, as presented, waiving the reading
C. Budget Amendment-Police Secretary Line
A proposed motion to approve/deny the budget amendment for Police
Secretary line 207—31.000.705.200 for the increase in hours in the
amount of ($2,185.00) two thousand, one hundred and eighty-five
dollars as presented, waiving the reading.
