10. Community Input: Meeting Open to the Public:
(Limit comments to 5 minutes per person)
The City of Luna Pier operates under rules of parliamentary procedure, which states, “Citizens have the right to
attend the meetings and be permitted to address the body on matters that are relevant to business. Citizens must
observe all of the rules that are set. Members of the public attending the meetings of the governmental body DO
NOT have the right to interrupt or heckle. During public comment time, they have the right to ask to be heard by
requesting permission of the body through the Mayor. All questions, comments and remarks must ALWAYS be
addressed through the Mayor.” Public Comment time is just that—an opportunity for the public to comment. It is
NOT a time for a debate, exchange of ideas, or opportunity to harass board members, all of which will not be
permitted at the City of Luna Pier Council meetings.
11. Council Action Needed:
A. Recommendation from Planning Commission for Master Plan Update
• A proposed motion to approve/deny the recommendation from
Planning Comm. to award the Master Plan Bid to go to McKenna in the
amount not to exceed ($27,000) twenty-seven thousand dollars as
presented, waiving the reading.
B. Decker Insurance Package
• A proposed motion to approve/deny the Decker Insurance package for
one year effective 11-17-2023 to 11-17-2024 with the option of
________________________ for the gun range as presented, waiving
the reading.
C. Healthcare coverage for employees for 2023-24
• A proposed motion to approve/deny the Healthcare coverage from
Paramount option #_________ in the amount of ________________
for one-year effective Dec 1, 2023 to Nov. 30, 2024 as presented,
waiving the reading.
D. Ordinance No. 231-B Parking Amendment-First Reading
• A proposed motion to approve/deny Ordinance No. 231-B Parking
Amendment-First Reading with the verbiage changes to include
changes from the sub-committee and the approval from attorney as
presented, waiving the reading.
E. Special Events Application-Veteran’ Day Parade
• A proposed motion to approve/deny the Special Events Application
from the Luna Pier Parade Committee for the Veteran’s Day Parade to
be held on Nov. 11, 2023 starting at 12:00 p.m. as presented, waiving
the reading.
F. Ordinance No.247-A-To Extend the Limited Moratorium-First Reading
• A proposed motion to approve/deny Ordinance No. 247-A- To Extend
the Limited Moratorium on the development of Junk Yards-First
Reading as presented, waiving the reading.
