The City of Luna Pier operates under rules of parliamentary procedure, which states, “Citizens have the right to
attend the meetings and be permitted to address the body on matters that are relevant to business. Citizens must
observe all of the rules that are set. Members of the public attending the meetings of the governmental body DO
NOT have the right to interrupt or heckle. During public comment time, they have the right to ask to be heard by
requesting permission of the body through the Mayor. All questions, comments and remarks must ALWAYS be
addressed through the Mayor.” Public Comment time is just that—an opportunity for the public to comment. It is
NOT a time for a debate, exchange of ideas, or opportunity to harass board members, all of which will not be
permitted at the City of Luna Pier Council meetings.
11. Council Action Needed:
A. Flood Application from William Gardner
• A proposed motion to approve/deny to appoint William Gardner to
Flood & Erosion Committee for a three-year term expiring 1-15-27 as
presented, waiving the reading.
B. DDA Grant
• A proposed motion to approve/deny the submission of Put Your Town
on the Map Grant through Consumers Energy Foundation for (16)
Street Lights and wiring as presented, waiving the reading.
C. Freedom Festival
• A proposed motion to approve/deny the cancellation of the 2024
Freedom Festival due to the I-75 Overpass completion date being
predicted for early July as presented, waiving the reading.
