1. CALL TO ORDER
Mayor Korthuis called to order the February 7, 2022, regular session of the Lynden City
Council at 7:00 p.m., which was held online, via Microsoft Teams.
ROLL CALL
Members present: Mayor Scott Korthuis and Councilors, Gary Bode, Ron De Valois,
Gerald Kuiken, Brent Lenssen, Nick Laninga, Kyle Strengholt, and Mark Wohlrab.
Members absent: None.
Staff present: Finance Director Anthony Burrows, Fire Chief Mark Billmire, Parks Director
Brent DeRuyter, Planning Director Heidi Gudde, Police Chief Steve Taylor, Public Works
Director Steve Banham, City Attorney Bob Carmichael, City Administrator John Williams,
and City Clerk Pam Brown.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Councilor Strengholt moved and Councilor Kuiken seconded to approve the
January 18, 2022, regular council meeting minutes as presented. Motion approved
on a 7-0 vote.

• January 19 CDC meeting re: survey and responses on CSL zoning
Councilor Bode reporting for the Public Works Committee:
• Procurement of bridge girders for Main Street
• West Front Street reconstruction bids
• KOA erosion and stormwater
• Bradley Road roundabout
• Front Street settlement issues
• Sixth Street sewer pipe
• Plans for the wastewater plant buildings
• Commendation to the public works crew for the great work they did with snow
removal.
7. EXECUTIVE SESSION
Council entered executive session at 7:20 p.m. to discuss consideration of site
selection or acquisition of real estate purchase or lease as allowed by RCW42.30.HO
(1)(c). The executive session was expected to last 10 minutes without a decision.

provided on the city's webpage calendar event.
Members of the public wanting to comment on any item not on the agenda are
encouraged to contact the City Clerk at 360-255-7085. You will be asked to provide
your name, address and a brief description of your comment for the council file.
Members of the public wanting to comment on any item included in the public hearing
section of the agenda are also encouraged to contact the City Clerk prior to the
meeting. The audience will be provided an opportunity to comment on each of the public
