CITY OF LYNDEN CITY COUNCIL MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING May 16, 2022 1. CALL TO ORDER Mayor Korthuis called to order the May 16, 2022 regular session of the Lynden City Council at 7:00 p.m.at the city's council chambers. This was an in-person meeting with the option to call into the meeting via telephone. ROLL CALL Members present: Mayor Scott Korthuis, Councilors Gary Bode, Ron De Valois, Brent Lenssen, Nick Laninga, and Kyle Strengholt. Members absent: Councilor Kuiken and CouncilorWohlrab absent with notice. Staff present: Finance Director Antony Burrows, Parks Director Brent DeRuyter, Police Chief Steve Taylor, and City Clerk Pam Brown. OATH OF OFFICE- None SUMMARY REPORTS AND PRESENTATIONS- None APPROVAL OF MINUTES Councilor De Valois moved, and Councilor Bode seconded to approve the May 2, 2022, regular council meeting minutes as presented. Motion approved on 5-0 vote. CITIZEN COMMENT Cynthia Ripke-Kutsacioitz, 7062 Guide Meridian #3 0 Cynthia thanked council members for attending the meeting in person and expressed her concern that current laws are not protecting officers.
