AGENDA HUB CITIES CONSORTIUM A special Hub Cities Consortium Board Meeting to be held at Hub Cities Consortium, Southeast Los Angeles America’s Job Center of California (AJCC) 4354 Tweedy Blvd, South Gate, CA 90280 Thursday, December 21, 2023 at 4:00 p.m. This meeting will be accessible to the public in person and will also be accessible via a virtual/ tele-conference; Zoom web link information will be available on email calendar invite. We would like to acknowledge that the land we inhabit today was once known as Tovangaar, the home of the Gabrieleño-Tongva people. We show our respects to the Gabrieleño-Tongva people, as well as all Indigenous people, past, present, and future, and honor their labor as original caretakers of this land. We commit to uplifting the Gabrieleño-Tongva people, invite you to acknowledge the history, and join us in caring for this land. 2. CONSIDERATION OF BOARD MEMBER(S) REQUEST(S) TO APPEAR REMOTELY (Pursuant to AB 2449 and Government Code Section 54954.2(b)(4)). Provided a quorum of the Board is present in person at roll call and remote conferencing is available, pursuant to AB 2449, Government Code Sections 54953 and 54954.2(b)(4), the Board will consider and vote on a Board Member’s request to appear remotely at today’s meeting based on an emergency circumstance; or announcement by Board Member to appear remotely for just cause such as need to care for a child or family member, contagious illness, physical or mental disability, or travel on official public business. Information about the public’s ability to remotely access today’s meeting and provide public comment is also added to this agenda. 3. Executive Director’s Report 1. Hub Cities Consortium Southeast Los Angeles America’s Job Center of California (AJCC) Request for Proposals Los Angeles County America’s Job Center of California (AJCCs) Modernization update. 2. Request to approve Hub Cities Consortium Board of Directors Authorization to appeal/protest/contest letter received on December 14, 2023 regarding Request for Proposals Los Angeles County America’s Job Center of California (AJCCs) Modernization contract; and/or take such additional, related action and/or provide staff and/or General Counsel with additional or alternative directive(s). 5. CLOSED SESSION The Board will adjourn to closed session for the following discussion items: 1. Closed Session Pursuant to Government Code §§ 54956.9(d)(2) and 54956.9(e)(1) – Anticipated Litigation – Conference with Legal Counsel – “Facts and circumstances that might result in litigation against the local agency but which the local agency believes are not yet known to a potential plaintiff or plaintiffs, which facts and circumstances need not be disclosed.” One (1) matter. 2. Closed Session Pursuant to Government Code § 54956.9(d)(4) – Anticipated Litigation – Conference with Legal Counsel –Based on existing facts and circumstances, Hub Cities Consortium is deciding whether to initiate litigation – One (1) matter. 6.
