THE CITY OF MADEIRA BEACH, FLORIDA PUBLIC NOTICE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS AGENDA SETTING MEETING The Board of Commissioners of the City of Madeira Beach, Florida wm meet at City Hall, located at 300 Municipal Drive, Madeira Beach, Florida to discuss the agenda items of City Business listed at the time indicated below. 5:30 P.M. Tuesday, July 9, 2013 AUDITORIUM CALL TO ORDER the meeting was called to order at 5:32 p.m. ROLL CALL MEMBERS PRESENT: Travis Palladeno, Mayor Terry Lister, Vice-Mayor Nancy Hodges, Commissioner District 2 Elaine Poe, Commissioner District 3 Pat Shontz, Commissioner District 4 STAFF PRESENT: Shane Crawford, City Manager (CM) Thomas Trask, City Attorney (CA) Vince Tenaglia, Finance Director (FD) Dave Marsicano, Central Services Director (CSD) Aimee Servedio, City Clerk (CC) 1. TOPICS FOR JULY 23111 WORKSHOP A. DISCUSSION ON CONSIDERATION OF TWO REGULAR BOC MEETINGS PER MONTH Mayor Palladeno CM: Wants to refer it for 30 days so it won't be on this workshop, it will be for the next one B. DISCUSSION ON TECHNOLOGY TO BE USED FOR COMMISION PACKETS Commissioner Poe C. DISCUSSION ON RECORD REQUEST FEES Commissioner Poe CM: wM I be removed due to the fact that is can be dealt with administratively. D. DISCUSSION ON INCREASING STORMWATER FEES City Manager E. DISCUSSION ON INCREASING PARKING FEES City Manager BOC Agenda Setting Meeting 7/9/2013 CM: Both D & E are being attended to by the Department heads. They are updating the Fees and CoHection Manual. Then they will be presented to the Council. F. DISCUSSION ON FEES AND COLLECTION PROCEDURE MANUAL City Mansger G. DISCUSSION ON NOMINATION FOR CITY BUSINESS RECOGNITION AWARD Mayor Palladeno CM: Mayor has a recommendation. Waltz Fish Shack has been recognized in a world-wide magazine. H. DISCUSSION ON PLANNING COMMISSION APPLICATIONS City Manager CM: There are more applications then there are spots so some individuals will have to be turned down. Has the idea of ranking the 8 applicants and the bottom 2 (for 6 spots) will not be on the Commission but will be allowed to apply next time. Rankings will be discussed at the next workshop ood the appointments will be made in August. I. DISCUSSION ON RECYCLING VENDOR City Manager CM: The current recycling vendor does not want to continue on with the City of Madeira Beach due to the fact that they thought they were going to take over Sanitation. The City does not wish to contract out Sanitation and the rate would have jumped 35-40%. CM recommends that the service be bid out. That company will be working with the city for the rest of the calendar year. 2. ITEMS ON DECK FOR NEXT WORKSHOP Motion was made to approve the Agenda as discussed by Mayor Palladeno and was seconded by Commissioner Poe.
