City Council Meeting Monday, July 23, 2018 The meeting was called to order by Mayor Mike Grote. Those in attendance were; Dave Whitney, Andy Gappa and Larry Schickling, with John Nelson absent from the meeting. A Motion was made by Larry Schickling and seconded by Andy Gappa to approve the Consent Items. Voting in favor of said motion, Mike Grote, Dave Whitney, Larry Schickling and Andy Gappa motion was approved. A Motion was made by Larry Schickling and seconded by Dave Whitney to address two hazardous homes located at; 303 Third Street NE (Owner, Robert and Linda Nelson) and 122 Center Avenue S (Owner, Jean Blackstad) Both owners informed the City that the homes were in the process of being sold and that the new owners would be demolishing the homes. City Staff were to contact the owners in sixty days to follow the progress of the sale and demolition. Voting in favor of said motion; Mike Grote, Larry Schickling, Dave Whitney, and Andy Gappa; motion was approved with John Nelson absent from the vote. A Motion was made by Andy Gappa and seconded by Larry Schickling to approve the hire of Keith Zacharias for the position of Utility Worker; with a start date of July 30, 2018 and an hourly wage of $17.64. Voting in favor of said motion; Mike Grote, Larry Schickling, Dave Whitney and Andy Gappa, motion was approved with John Nelson absent from the vote. With no further business before the Council, A Motion was made by Andy Gappa and seconded by Larry Schickling to adjourn the meeting. Voting in favor of said motion, Dave Whitney, Andy Gappa, Larry Schickling and Mike Grote. Voting against none, motion was approved. The meeting was adjourned.
