City Council Meeting Tuesday, May 28, 2019 The meeting was called to order by Mayor Mike Grote. Those in attendance were; Mike Grote, Andy Gappa, Cody Eager, Larry Schickling and Dave Whitney. A Motion was made by Larry Schickling and seconded by Andy Gappa to approve the Consent Items. Voting in favor of said motion, Mike Grote, Cody Eager, Dave Whitney, Larry Schickling and Andy Gappa, motion was approved. A Motion was made by Larry Schikling and seconded by Dave Whitney to approve advertising in July 2019 for 3-4 position on the Fire Department. Voting in favor of said motion; Mike Grote, Cody Eager, Dave Whitney, Larry Schickling and Andy Gappa; motion was approved. A Motion was made by Dave Whitney and seconded by Andy Gappa to approve advertising for Utility Position starting middle of June 2019 for 30 days. Voting in favor of said motion; Mike Grote, Larry Schickling, Cody Eager, Dave Whitney and Andy Gappa; motion was approved. A Motion was made by Larry Schickling and seconded by Andy Gappa to approve seal coat quote from Pearson Brothers not to exceed $90,000.00. Street sweeping will be done by the City. Voting in favor of said motion; Mike Grote, Cody Eager, Dave Whitney, Larry Schickling and Andy Gappa; motion was approved. A Motion was made by Dave Whitney and seconded by Cody Eager to approve Josh Henry, Elite Electrical at 504 Second St. NE to tap into the catch basin at the intersection of Eager Avenue NE and Second Street NE. Josh will be running a drain tile across his property. Ben Lehman, Street Department has also approved this request. Voting in favor of said motion, Mike Grote, Andy Gappa, Dave Whitney, Larry Schickling and Cody Eager. Motion was approved. A Motion was made by Andy Gappa and seconded by Larry Schickling to approve amending Ordinance 55.052 Wastewater Rates. Ordinance will be published in May 30th, 2019 paper and will rates will go into effect July 1st, 2019. Voting in favor of said motion; Mike Grote, Cody Eager, Larry Schickling and Andy Gappa, Dave Whitney abstained from vote, motion was approved. A Motion was made by Dave Whitney and seconded by Cody Eager to approve the Temporary Liquor License for Lost Sanity to sell beer at Park Days. The fee for the Temporary License is $100. Voting in favor of said motion; Mike Grote, Cody Eager, Larry Schickling and Andy Gappa and Dave Whitey, motion was approved. A Motion was made by Andy Gappa and seconded by Cody Eager to approve Jim Pettersen 203 Center Avenue North curb and gutter replacement. Jim will be making an opening of his approach and will need to cut out curb and gutter. Ben Lehman, Street Department has also approved this request. Voting in favor of said motion, Mike Grote, Andy Gappa, Dave Whitney, Larry Schickling and Cody Eager. Motion was approved. With no further business before the Council, A Motion was made by Andy Gappa and seconded by Larry Schickling to adjourn the meeting. Voting in favor of said motion, Mike Grote, Andy Gappa, Cody Eager, Larry Schickling and Dave Whitney. Voting against none, motion carried.
