REPORTS
2. Treasurer Report (Mordarski)
Mordarski presented the report. No one had questions.
3. Social Media Report (Nagle)
Nagle reported that the Board has had quite a few engagements recently, including 32 new followers and
almost 300 new content interactions. The current follower count on Facebook is 1,400. Covert requested
that Mordarski follow up with the City Attorney about policies pertaining to Instagram. Nagle also asked
about opening a TikTok, though Mordarski noted that the City Attorneys have advised against the use of
TikTok for the City, including boards and commissions. Davis recommends utilizing YouTube. It is
recommended to use YouTube or Instagram reels that are similar to TikTok.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS
4. Arts Prom 2025 (Geralds, Bliss, Nagle, Covert, King)
No updates. Nagle said she would add Wrona and Davis to the Facebook page.
5. Skelebration Trail (Geralds, Dorsey, Young, Wrona)
No updates.
6. Trail Tunes 2025 (Bliss, Palazzolo, Aaron, Mier, Davis)
No updates.
7. Civic Center Hopscotch (Geralds)
No updates.
8. DIA Inside|Out 2025 (Geralds, Nagle, King, Young)
Mordarski and King visited the DIA for an orientation on 4/8. Mordarski reported that the installations
will occur mid-May. The subcommittee is considering a variety of different events, but needs to meet
before anything is set in stone. Mordarski recommended combining events, for example, hosting a
painting in the park before the summer concert series. Young recommended reaching out to a Bob Ross
oil painter who could teach a painting class. Young will send over the contact for this individual to
Mordarski.
9. HREC Cookbook Collaboration (Nagle)
On hold. Tabled for now.
10. High Schooler City Hall Art Exhibit (King, Aaron)
King recommends tabling this discussion until next year due to the timing of submissions. Aaron will
contact Lamphere schools one more time since she connects with the Assistant Principal regularly. King
will follow up with Aaron.
11. Summer Concert Series (Aaron, Bliss, Geralds, King, Soto-Olsen)
No updates. Soto-Olsen offered to volunteer for all of those dates. Soto-Olsen can help with sound.
12. Arts Board Merch (King, Covert, Walker, Aaron, Wrona)
In an email to Mordarski, Walker asked for additional guidance or direction regarding the Arts Board
Merch design. Covert stated that Walker has the freedom to design whatever relates to Madison Heights
and the Anniversary. Wrona offered to create some mockups as well.
13. Bandshell Utilization Subcommittee (Geralds, Covert, King, Mier)

14. Arts and Pride (Nagle, Dorsey, King, Wrona)

NEW BUSINESS
In closing, the Arts Board plans to take a group photo at the next meeting, with members encouraged to
wear blue. Covert recommended that Soto-Olsen assist with sound setup for either Trail Tunes or the
Skelebration Trail event, as additional help will be needed.
Wrona mentioned he has been handmaking Halloween costumes since childhood and is skilled at
working with cardboard, which could be beneficial to the Skelebration Trail committee if they need
support. Additionally, a dance instructor has been secured for a potential upcoming dance class.
