REPORTS
Chief's Report
Deputy Chief Filzek is currently in the hospital. If you could send your well wishes his direction,
he is recovering well.
We recently lost (2) Police Officers so we are interviewing again for Police Officers. We
currently have (1) dispatcher in the background process so once everything is clear with the
background and she is hired, we will be at full staffing for dispatchers.
We are working on having an additional school resource officer at Page Middle School for next
school year. We are waiting for the agreement to be signed by Lamphere.
1
Our SIU unit will remain at two employees for now until we are fully staffed with road patrol
officers. Once we are staffed for the road, we can move another officer into SIU.
Councilman Wright asked about Madison District getting a school resource officer and Chief
said that speaking with the superintendent last year about assigning an officer for SRO, they
were interested and when it went in front of the board, the vote did not pass.
Council Report
Councilman Wright stated that the 2025 - 2026 city budget will be presented to City Council at
the next meeting for approval and everything should be good.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS
Chair Person Iaquinto sent over the PDF with the Crime Prevention ideas to the Crime
Commission. Secretary Schell will get the posts scheduled to go out once a month.
We will have to carry over the magnet purchase idea until the next meeting when Councilman
Fleming is in attendance. We will need to look into funding to pay for the magnets.
NEW BUSINESS
The Crime Commission will handle the bike registrations for the residents, hand out the PD swag
and the raffle for the bike giveaway. Chair Person Iaquinto, Commissioner Roberts and
Councilman Wright will be there this year to help out.
We have to pick a date for the K-9 Demonstration. Trail Tunes is being held on 9/6/25. We will
discuss this further at the next Crime Commission meeting to set the date.
ADJOURNMENT
Motion made to adjourn the meeting made by Covert, seconded by Iaquinto.
