ZONING ORDINANCE REWRITE COMMUNITY WORKSHOP
Planning Consultant Adam Cook reviewed a PowerPoint presentation and provided a handout at
the joint workshop. He went into further detail of the following items: Master Plan, future land
use, single-family residential, commercial, city center, mixed use innovation, traditional
downtown, Zoning Plan, multiple family residential, vehicle parking district, Madison Place, and
form-based.

Mayor Grafstein opened the public comment at 6:10 p.m.
The group discussed the following desired elements for 11 Mile Road and John R Road: bike
lanes, art installations, green space, wider sidewalks, mixed use, walkable downtown, public
transportation, and parking structures.
The group further discussed the following desired elements for Whitcomb Avenue and John R
Road: mixed use, street parking for retail, rooftop gardens, balconies, historical nostalgia, and
rooftop solar.
Mayor Grafstein closed the public comment at 7:34 p.m.
ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business, Mayor Grafstein adjourned the meeting at 7:35 p.m.
