Downtown Development Commission

Minutes February 16, 2012 Meeting started at 7:30pm, on February 16, 2012 unofficial reports regarding the clock were discussed before the start of the meeting. Treasurer Report: See Brad’s Report Brad made a motion to approve the January minutes, seconded by Marsha Ann, approved unanimously. Council Liaison and Mayor are at Council meeting therefore, no report. No planning Board Report Foundation Report: Budget request will be sent to foundation for approval and the foundation will be meeting soon. PIC: Alley signs are all wired and the committee is waiting on “nice” weather to install. Taste of Madison: next meeting on 2/16/12, some silent auction items have been confirmed. May Day: Senior Citizens are willing to help as per Ben Cahill. The senior Council is no longer on “baking duty”. Farmers’ Market: Contracts going out at the beginning of March. Two merchants showed up, Stephanie (Blush) and Lauren (Cottage Charm). Tone of meeting is that the Market is not moving, what can we do to help you. New Buttons are in and will be distributed soon. Main Street Conference: Brad, Bonnie, Jim and Laura are attending at this time. We will check in with Maureen. Next month we will discuss goals and projects for the DDC. Waverly Clock: Brad makes a motion that we purchase all of the parts (hands, controls, individual motorized clock faces with glass faces) up to $5000 to repair the clock. Ben Cahill seconds it. Approved unanimously. Laura will do research on the Love Madison, Shop Madison totes with the DDC logo, perhaps we can get merchant sponsors on the bag. Meeting adjourned at 8:04pm
