unanimously.

5. Treasurer’s Report:
BHD – Financial success
FM at a slight loss – less revenue, more expenses
6. Mayor’s Report: No report
7. Council Liaison Report: Council Landrigan thanked Lisa Ellis for an amazing Bottle
Hill Day. Commended the Beer Garden coordinators on a job well done.
8. Planning Board Report: No report
9. Committee Reports:
a. Sign & Façade:
• Eric & Russell to attend Alexander property meeting to support
plans for a drive thru
b. University Relations
• Carla reports that the BHD/Drew Fireworks were a hit. Possible
new tradition.
c. Public Improvement Committee
Reiteration of DDC Mission: Get people downtown, enhance downtown experience,
develop community spaces, support events, make people want to stay longer when
downtown.
• Discussing MRC Way finding kiosk
• For May – 2 Superman booths with cell phone charging stations.
• $8000 per booth + $3500 charging station
• Captive Wi-Fi Portal
• Russell coordinating a PIC Downtown walk to identify potential projects
• Banner Poles $7000/pole
10. Ad Hoc Committee Reports
a. Taste of Madison: Discussion about allowing non-Madison vendors if TOM
cannot fill with Madison Vendors. Discussion that the TOM committee open unfilled
spaces to “Madison Related” business such as those owned by Madison residents.
MOTION by Lisa Ellis, Second, Bob Landrigan: DDC Official Position – Not in
favor of opening the Taste of Madison to outside businesses. Passed Unanimously.
b. Farmers’ Market
d. Bottle Hill Day 2013:
Concern that BHD 2014 is on Yom Kippur. Should we consider a date
change?
11. Old Business
a. Cook Parking Lot- Proposal – Tabled to November
b. DDC Presentation for Council – 2nd meeting in Nov.
c. Way-finding signs – pending PIC walk
d. MACA Art Auction and Gala tomorrow – MOTION by Craig Erezuma, second
Russell: The DDC should forgo the $100 per piece it planned on taking as a
reimbursement so that the artists and MACA make more on each sale. This would
instead be considered an investment in the program. Passed unanimously.
12. New Business
a. Holiday Gift Check program: $2200 balance. 10% discount. DDC fund $2500,
Chamber $2500. MOTION by Bob Landrigan, second Brad Cramer: The DDC will
invest $1600 on the Holiday Gift Check program. Passed unanimously.
b. Waverly Lights. MOTION by Russell Stern, Second Marsha Ann Zimmerman:
Eboard will have up to $10,000 to work with Shade Tree Management and Honor Tree to
replace the tree lights on Waverly Place. Passed. Brad Cramer abstained.
