meeting of the Downtown Development Commission was provided by distributing the Annual Meeting
schedule to the Madison Eagle and Morris County Daily Record, posting a copy on the bulletin board at
the main entrance to the Hartley Dodge Memorial Building, posting a copy on the Borough website, and
filing a copy with the Borough Clerk, all on or about the first week of January 2018. Copies of said notice
were made available to members of the general public.

8) MAYOR’S REPORT: Mayor Conley talked about the Tri-Campus Peace March that took place this evening.
The event went very well and there was good attendance from the universities. Cider and donuts were
donated by the three farms that participate the Farmers Market.
9) COUNCIL LIAISON REPORT: There was no report.
10) DIRECTOR OF BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT REPORT:

11) PLANNING BOARD REPORT: Peter Flemming gave the report. He gave an overview on the FDU field

12) FOUNDATION REPORT: A date will be set for a fall meeting. There were some filing issues that needed
to be worked through. The DCA is no longer accepting renewals through the mail; it all must be done
online now.
13) COMMITTEE REPORTS: The DDC Chair, Mayor and Council Liaison will be invited to all standing

Report: The Committee has reviewed three applications since the meeting of July 19t, 2018:

Report: PIC had a meeting on Tuesday, September 18. Jim Hollenbach, Bob Rocco, Suzy Whitehorn,
Peter Flemming and Lisa Ellis attended. A general discussion was held regarding future projects.
Action Items: Christmas Décor
Wreaths: After discussion it was decided that, the Walgreens area listed be eliminated from
consideration due to the private control of the lampposts. KRE will be contacted to see if they
would like to continue the décor into their property at their own expense.

i) Winter/Holiday Market (November 1 through December 20): after discussion, the consensus was
that this would be a great idea. It will be viewed as a trial this year. There will have to be an effort
to get the word out.
e) Drew University Town Tour (August 25, 2018):
ii) Lunches - $3,972.18, 472 students.

iii) Student Discount Cards distributed to all three universities
f) Bottle Hill Day (Saturday, October 6, 2018):
iv) Update: Lisa Elis reported that sponsorships are up this year and that =vendor applications
continue to come in daily. It was noted that this year all rental equipment will be provided by a
new vendor as Ridge rentals is no longer in the business. The cost will be higher. Volunteer sign-
ups for the day of will be recruited. There was a brief discussion on some logistical concerns.
g) Downtown Concert Series w/METC (June 22, July 13, July 27, August 10, August 24, &
September 7, 2018): There is no report
h) Madison Storytellers Festival (September 15, 2018): This event has been cancelled for 2018.
i) Madison IntoYellow:
v) Planning work for 2019 continues. More information will be on the October meeting
agenda.
j) MACA/DDC Holiday Arts Festival (Friday and Saturday, November 24 and 25): There is no
report
k) Rose City Summerfest (TBD): the date was confirmed as Saturday, June 15, 2019. The rain date will
be Sunday, June 16.
15) OLD BUSINESS: There was none discussed.
16) NEW BUSINESS: There was a brief discussion on plans for the Christmas Parade on Friday, November 23.
Brad Cramer mentioned that possibility of using his landscape trailer to create a float for the parade.
