Pellessier TBD - Volunteer TBD - Drew Student Giralda Rep - TBD 4) OPEN PUBLIC MEETINGS ACT: In compliance with the open public meetings act, adequate notice of this meeting of the Downtown Development Commission was provided by distributing the Annual Meeting schedule to the Madison Eagle and Morris County Daily Record, posting a copy on the bulletin board at the main entrance to the Hartley Dodge Memorial Building, posting a copy on the Borough website, and filing a copy with the Borough Clerk, all on or about the first week of January 2018. Copies of said notice were made available to members of the general public. 5) APPROVAL OF SEPTEMBER 2018 MINUTES (There are no minutes for October or November, as a quorum was not reached. The meeting notes are attached here) 6) CHAIRMAN/EXECUTIVE BOARD REPORT a) Nominations for Officers 2019 (1) At the December meeting of each year, the ex-officio member, who will be the election officer, will then accept nominations for the position of Chair, Vice-Chair, Secretary, Treasurer and Member-At-Large. (2) All nominations, whether oral or written, must be made, seconded and then accepted by the individual nominated. At the beginning of the January meeting, the election officer will accept any nominations from the floor and call the roll to determine those eligible to receive ballots and cast votes. The election officer will prepare the ballots indicating the officers' title and a space in which the eligible voters can write in their choice for each officer's position. The election officer will distribute the ballots to those eligible to vote. Upon completion of the actual vote, the election officer will collect the ballots and will then tabulate the results. The results will be verified by the Council liaison and by any member of the Commission who is not running for election and who has been appointed by the election officer. Report: The survey for the property beyond the METC has been postponed and will hopefully be included in the 2019 Borough budget. All holiday decorating is complete. Action Items: None at this time. c) Marketing and Economic Development: Eric Range, Leslie Lajewski, Carla Brady, Deb Starker Melanie Tomaszewski, John Morris, Karen Giambra, Michael Pellessier. Chair TBD. Report: The Committee met on Wednesday, October 24 at 7:30 pm with Vicky Vitarelli and Kris Pfeifer to review proposals from local professionals. Attendance was disappointing: This program needs to be reevaluated. d) Farmers’ Market (Thursdays, May 31 - October 25, 2018): There is no report i) Harvest Market (November 1 through December 20) e) Drew University Town Tour (August 25, 2018): There is no report. f) Bottle Hill Day (Saturday, October 6, 2017): There is no report g) Downtown Concert Series w/METC (June 22, July 13, July 27, August 10, August 24, & September 7, 2018): There is no report h) Madison Storytellers Festival (September 15, 2018): This event has been cancelled for 2018. i) Madison IntoYellow: Small Committee meetings have been ongoing and there will be a more detailed report and ask for the 2019 programming on the January meeting agenda. j) MACA/DDC Holiday Arts Festival (Friday and Saturday, November 24 and 25): i) Sum of attendance at all events in 2018: 1,595 over two days, 2017. 1,557 - Friday, 2018, 1,075 - 2017: 1,102. Saturday, 2018 - 520, 2017- 455.
