4) OPEN PUBLIC MEETINGS ACT: In compliance with the open public meetings act, adequate notice of
this meeting of the Downtown Development Commission was provided by distributing the Annual
Meeting schedule to the Madison Eagle and Morris County Daily Record, posting a copy on the
bulletin board at the main entrance to the Hartley Dodge Memorial Building, posting a copy on the
Borough website, and filing a copy with the Borough Clerk, all on or about the first week of January
2019. Copies of said notice were made available to members of the general public.

iv) Committee Work Session: We will break into Committees for 15 minutes so that each
committee can set a schedule of meetings, select a chair, discuss membership recruitment,
begin basic goal setting.
13) STANDING COMMITTEES (CURRENT): Informational only, no discussion planned except as highlighted
a) Sign & Façade: The new Sign Permit Application with minor changes to the fee structure are now
in posted for use. The fee changes were approved by Mayor and Council with the adoption of
Ordinance 3-2019 at the meeting of January 28, 2019.
i) There have been two applications reviewed and referred to the Borough Zoning Officer since

the February DDC meeting.
(1) Ossino’s Market, 258 Main Street
b) PIC (Public Improvement): There is no report
c) Marketing and Economic Development: The second meeting was held on Thursday, February 28.
At this meeting the first round of creative materials were shared. The third meeting is scheduled
for Wednesday, March 20.

14) AD HOC COMMITTEE AND PROJECT UPDATES: These are listed primarily for informational purposes
only the items highlighted will be discussed.
a) Taste of Madison (Monday, March 18, 2019)
b) May Day (May 4, 2019)
i) Art Contest is under way; the deadline is March 22 for submissions.
ii) The May Day donation envelopes are in the process of being put in the utility bills and they are
starting to come back in.
iii) A meeting will be scheduled for the week of March 25 to judge and choose a winner for the art
context and to kick start the planning for the day of.
c) Madison IntoYellow (May 5 through 12):

d) DDC/MACA Sidewalk Art Gallery & Gala (inactive)
e) Farmers’ Market (Thursdays, May 23 - October 24, 2019)
i) Contracts have been sent to previous vendors with a request for a response regarding
attendance.
ii) There are approximately ten new vendors who have reached out anxious to join if there is
space available.
f) Drew University Town Tour (TBD)
g) Bottle Hill Day (Saturday, October 5, 2019)
h) Downtown Concert Series w/METC (June 28, July 12, July 26, August 9, August 23 and
September 6, 2019)
