DOWNTOWN DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION Committee Room - Hartley Dodge Memorial Building Date: June 20, 2019 Time: 7:15 pm MEETING MINUTES: 1) CALL TO ORDER: Chair Suzy Whitehorn opened the meeting at 7:16 pm. 2) PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE 3) ROLL CALL MEMBERS PRESENT: R. Conley, J. Hoover, J. Hollenbach, R. Landrigan S. Whitehorn, M. Tomaszewski, J. Morris, D. Starker, E. Range, R. Rocco, R. Stern, C. Brady, Michael Pellessier MEMBERS ABSENT: B. Cramer, T. Honohan, P. Flemming, L. Lajewski, M. Fabyanski, G. Herzog ALSO PRESENT: Lisa Ellis, Director of Business Development 4) OPEN PUBLIC MEETINGS ACT: In compliance with the open public meetings act, adequate notice of this meeting of the Downtown Development Commission was provided by distributing the Annual Meeting schedule to the Madison Eagle and Morris County Daily Record, posting a copy on the bulletin board at the main entrance to the Hartley Dodge Memorial Building, posting a copy on the Borough website, and filing a copy with the Borough Clerk, all on or about the first week of January 2019. Copies of said notice were made available to members of the general public. 5) APPROVAL OF APRIL 2019 MINUTES Motion to approve April 2019 Minutes as presented Moved by: E. Range and Seconded by: J. Hoover Voice Vote: Unanimous 13) STANDING COMMITTEES (CURRENT): Informational only, no discussion planned except as highlighted a) Sign & Façade: i) There have been 5 applications reviewed and referred to the Borough Zoning Officer since the May DDC meeting:  La Rosa Chicken & Grill , 306 Main Street  Madison and Main Advisors, 266 Main Street  Tino's Artisan Pizza Co., 6 Main Street  Coldwell Banker, 49 Main Street  The Pink Pear, 28 Waverly Place b) PIC (Public Improvement): i) Need to schedule next meeting, now that survey has been delivered. c) Marketing and Economic Development: i) New branding to be presented to Council, via summary, individual meetings and scheduled presentation. d) Arts & Events: i) Schedule first meeting 14) AD HOC COMMITTEE AND PROJECT UPDATES: These are listed primarily for informational purposes only the items highlighted will be discussed. a) Taste of Madison (Monday, March 18, 2019): There is no report b) May Day (May 4, 2019): There is no report. c) Madison IntoYellow (May 5 through 12): There is no report. d) DDC/MACA Sidewalk Art Gallery & Gala (inactive) e) Farmers Market (Thursdays, May 23 - October 24, 2019): There was no report f) Drew University Town Tour (TBD): There was no report. g) Bottle Hill Day (Saturday, October 5, 2019): There was no report. h) Downtown Concert Series w/METC (June 28, July 12, July 26, August 9, August 23 and September 6, 2019): There was no report. i) MACA/DDC Holiday Arts Festival (Friday and Saturday, November 29 and 30, 2019) j) Rose City Summerfest: i) Update – There was a discussion regarding how best to reintroduce this event in 2020.
