Madison Historic Preservation Commission MEMORANDUM October 15, 2019 TO: HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION FROM: JANET W. FOSTER & MARY ELLEN LENAHAN, Co-Chairs RE: Tuesday, October 22, 2019, Regular Meeting @ 7:30 p.m. Our next regular meeting will be held on Tuesday, October 22, 2019 at 7:30 p.m. in the Committee Room on the second floor of the Hartley Dodge Memorial. THE FOLLOWING IS AN AGENDA FOR SAID MEETING AND FORMAL ACTION MAY OR MAY NOT BE TAKEN ON A PORTION OF THIS AGENDA. THE PUBLIC IS INVITED AND MAY ATTEND SAID MEETING SUBJECT TO THOSE AREAS OF CONSIDERATION DESIGNATED, IF ANY, FROM WHICH THE PUBLIC MAY BE EXCLUDED PURSUANT TO SUBSECTION 7B & 8 OF THE LAWS OF 1975. AGENDA HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION REGULAR MEETING TUESDAY, OCTOBER 22, 2019 Call to Order: Open Public Meeting Statement Roll Call: Approval of Minutes: September 10, 2019, Regular Meeting and Executive Session. Executive Session Minutes are not yet available to the public. TCC Update: -Report on September 17 meeting attended by Co-Chairs regarding 14 Lincoln Place and 16 Waverly Place - 44 Brooklake Road. Sign & Façade Update: 16 Waverly Place – new pop up store Signage on awnings reviewed for Suburban Shoes, Waverly Place New Business: 1. 254 Woodland Road - Review of plans for partial renovation of house 2. 49 Park Avenue – discussion with new owner Old Business: 132 Ridgedale Avenue – update from discussion at September meeting Public Input: Executive Session (Closed Session): RESOLUTION 19-04 RESOLUTION TO RECESS INTO CLOSED SESSION WHEREAS, Section 8 of the Open Public Meetings Act, Chapter, 231 P.L. 1975 permits the exclusion of the public from a meeting in certain circumstances; and WHEREAS, the public body is of the opinion that such circumstances presently exist. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Historic Preservation Commission of the Borough of Madison, in the County of Morris and State of New Jersey as follows: 1. The public shall be excluded from discussion of and action upon the hereinafter specified subject matter(s). 2. The general nature of the subject matter to be discussed is as follows: Discussion of status of recent appeal by Saxum Realty and Cross-Appeal by Save Madison Theatre; review of letter and discussion of next steps and matters falling within the attorney-client privilege with respect to these subjects in accordance with Chapter 231, Public Law 1975, Section 7, Item (b)(1) and (b)(7). 3. It is anticipated at this time that the above-stated subject matter will be made public at the conclusion of each specified subject matter. 4. This resolution shall take effect immediately. 5.
