OPEN SPACE, RECREATION AND HISTORIC PRESERVATION MINUTES July 11, 2012 NEXT MEETING: August 8, 2012, 7:30 PM, Committee Room, Borough Hall PRESENT: A. Baillie, B. Conley, C. Coultas, L. Ellis, M. Honohan, R. Poeter Open Meeting Statement read MINUTES: Motion made and passed to accept the minutes with one spelling correction. ROSENET UPDATE: A, All Committee members should have a rosenet email address. B. Anyone with difficulty accessing their address, please contact the Chair. C. Address should be used for Open Space communications only. LIVESEY PARK UPDATE: A. Park looks good after Day Of Service project there on June1st. B. Students added flowers, shrubs and two trees to the site. C. The Madison Rotary Club has taken on the Park as a permanent service Project. Ernie Cicconi, Rotary Service Project Chair, will make sure the site is properly watered and maintained. SUSTAINABLE NEW JERSEY: Our Committee should support Madison’s efforts. COMMITTEE MISSION: A. One of our jobs is to keep track of the Open Space, Recreation and Historic Preservation Trust funds and the distribution of the funds. B. Can use the funds to leverage a purchase. C. Set up a meeting with Robert Kalafut about the funds. D. May need to use the fund to help pay for the turf fields if private funding does not happen. D. Need to check on “Project List” and update the “Property of Interest” list. E. Work on projects list and send on to the Parks Committee for input/approval.
