Open Space, Recreation and Historic Preservation Advisory Committee MINUTES Wednesday, September 11, 2019 NEXT MEETING: October 9, 2019, 7:30 pm in the Committee Room at Hartley Dodge Memorial Building. Please notify Melissa if unable to attend. PRESENT: A. Baillie, C. Kellogg, M. Honohan, J. Rhodes, G. Limbach, N. Bruce, P. Hiscano, J. Maccari, L. Ellis GUESTS: John Hoover I. Call to Order at 7:30 pm by M. Honohan II. Approval of the May 2019 minutes: Astri Baillie moved; Jill Rhodes seconded the motion to approve the minutes with no amendments. III. Belleau Woods Park: John Hoover joined the meeting in his role as liaison to the Whippany River Watershed Action Committee. He presented some history behind Belleau Woods Park and the water flow which once ran through it. He will work with R. Vogel to present a vision /idea and questions to the Parks Advisory Committee. IV. Dodge Field Bathroom Structure Replacement: Frank Russo provided two concepts, via email, for the building to be located near the small playground at Dodge Field. The restroom facility would be ADA compliant, have remote door locking/security features and provide an overhang for seating. An initial cost estimate was provided and a request for $250,000 from Open Space was made. The Committee has requested more information about Phase I and Phase II of Dodge field improvements and an explanation of the expenses. F. Russo will be asked to provide a presentation to the Open Space Advisory Committee in order to field questions and provide further details. V. New Business: There will be a future meeting agenda item with the focus of updating the potential projects list for the Committee. 8:40 pm meeting adjourned Respectfully submitted, Melissa Honohan
