Bilgen Minutes from October 20, 2021 - Motion by Sullivan 2nd by Sherwin to approve Cramer – Yes, Sullivan – Yes, Sherwin – Yes, Senatillaka – Yes, Chu - Yes 5 yes 0 nea minutes from October 20, 2021 are approved PETITION OF: Petition 21-013 by Kenneth Bolinger on behalf of Mark Federico for a variance of MCC 4.16.090.C.2.a Chapter 4 of the revised Ordinances of 2020 as amended of the City of Malden. Sign Control: Namely, Regulation of Signs; by District - Dimensional Controls for sign size, as per Plans SGER-038887-2021 at the property known as and numbered 38 Broadway, Malden, MA and also known by City Assessor’s Parcel ID # 125-481-103 All statutory requirements have been met and this petition is properly before the board. Petition 21-013 is being represented by John Connors, a representative of the sign company. Petitioner is seeking a variance for Dimensional Controls for sign size. By ordinance the sign size is limited to 40 sq. ft. The sign would be situated on a building that sits 612 ft from the road and visibility would be poor if limited to a size of 40 sq ft. The petitioner is requesting a variance for an increase of sign size to 181 sq ft. The letters of the sign are comparable to the abutting business’ sign of Sweet Home Furniture. No one showed in favor or opposition of this petition. Susan Chu was the appointed Associate Member for voting purposes due to the absence of K Bilgen. Motion by King to Accept petition 21-013 due to the unique size and shape of building and lot was second by Sherwin. Sullivan – Yes, Sherwin – Yes, King – Yes, Chu – Yes, Cramer – Yes All in Favor Petition 21-013 is GRANTED Motion to adjourn 7:04 pm Next meeting 12/15/2021
