Also in attendance was Councillor Chris Simonelli, Alicia McNeil, Dinah Fajardo, Anna Tse. Present 4 - Board Member Andrew D. Zamagni, Chairperson Jean T. Voltaire, Board Member Kathleen A. Young, and Carol Ann Desiderio Minutes to be Approved 262-23 Minutes from the meeting of June 5, 2023 Attachments: Board of Registrar's Letter 6923 A motion was made by Board Member Zamagni, seconded by Board Member Young, that the Committee Minutes be approved. The motion carried by a unanimous vote. Business As a follow up to their meeting of June 5, Board will meet in Open Session to hear the petition of Ward 7 Councillor Chris Simonelli to move Ward 7, Precinct 2 polling location from the Salemwood Field House Cafe to the Disabled American Veterans building at 85 Willow Street. The meeting opened with the clerk handing out copies of a written petition by Councillor Simonelli explaining why he wished to move a Ward 7 polling location. This letter is attached to the history of Paper 262-23. Councillor Simonelli reviewed with the Board of Registrars the story of how the 7-2 precinct ended up at the Salemwood School during redistricting and that he has always wanted it moved to an alternative location that would be closer to the neighborhood it was meant to serve. Councillor Simonelli has been working closely with the DAV and they wish to be more involved with community engagement and are pleased to have their building open to voters. This move is only in relation to Ward 7, Precinct 2 and does not affect the status of the other precincts of Ward 7, which are housed at the Ferryway School and Suffolk Manor. Other Business City of Malden Page 1 Board of Registrars of Voters Meeting Minutes - Final June 20, 2023 Board will discuss possible dates for the next meeting for the purpose of reviewing transliterated names for the 2023 Municipal Election cycle with Bilingual Election Coordinator Anna Tse. Next meeting will be scheduled for Tuesday, June 27 at 5:00 PM. Adjournment A motion was made by Board Member Zamagni, seconded by Board Member Young, that the meeting be adjourned.
