A. CALL MEETING TO ORDER
At 4:02 PM, Mayor D'Errico called the meeting to order.
B. PLEDGE TO THE FLAG
Finance Director Bruce Moe led the Pledge of Allegiance.
C. ROLL CALL
Present: 5 - Mayor D'Errico, Mayor Pro Tem Lesser, Councilmember Howorth,
Councilmember Powell and Councilmember Burton
D. CERTIFICATION OF MEETING NOTICE AND AGENDA POSTING
City Clerk Liza Tamura confirmed that the meeting was properly posted.
E. PUBLIC COMMENTS (2 MINUTES PER PERSON PER ITEM, A MAXIMUM
OF 5 MINUTES IF A SPEAKER WANTS TO COMMENT ON MORE THAN
ONE ITEM)
None.
F. ANNOUNCEMENT IN OPEN SESSION OF ITEMS TO BE DISCUSSED IN
CLOSED SESSION
At 4:03 PM, City Attorney Quinn Barrow read into the record the following Closed
Session Agenda Items below and noted the following updates: the conference with
legal counsel will only be for the discussion of one case and the conference with
property negotiators will only be for a status report and there will be no direction or
action given to the property negotiators.
A. CONFERENCE WITH LEGAL COUNSEL (ANTICIPATED LITIGATION)
(Government Code Section 54956.9 (d)(2)
A point has been reached where, in the opinion of the City Council on
the advice of its City Attorney, based on existing facts and
circumstances, there is a significant exposure to litigation against the
City.

G. RECESS INTO CLOSED SESSION
At 4:04 PM, Mayor D'Errico announced that City Council would recess into Closed
Session.
H. RECONVENE INTO OPEN SESSION
At 4:49 PM, the City Council reconvened into Open Session.
I. CLOSED SESSION ANNOUNCEMENT IN OPEN SESSION
City Attorney Quinn Barrow announced that direction was given to the City Attorney
and Community Development Director regarding the conference with legal counsel
for the potential litigation and a status report was received regarding the property
negotiations but no direction was given or reportable action was taken.
J. ADJOURNMENT
At 4:50 PM Mayor D'Errico adjourned the meeting.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Mayor has called a Special Closed Session
Meeting of the City Council of the City of Manhattan Beach, California, to be held
at Manhattan Beach City Hall, in the City Manager's Conference Room, 1400
Highland Avenue, Manhattan Beach, California, 90266, at 4:00 p.m. on Monday,
April 25, 2016, for the purpose of convening a Closed Session of the City
Council. The agenda for the meeting is set forth below.
