City of Manistee December 2017 Board of Review Minutes The Board of Review for the City of Manistee met on Wednesday December 13th, 2017 in the Second Floor Conference Room, at City Hall, 70 Maple Street for the December Board of Review meeting was called to order by the Chairperson at 9: 03 A. M. Members present: Chairperson: Judianne Sibley, Mary Kowalski Wilhelm and T. Eftaxiadis. Other Present: Assessor Whetstone Call for public comment: None given Motion by Eftaxiadis with support by Sibley to appoint Kowalski Wilhelm as the acting secretary to the December Board of Review, Motion approved. Motion by Eftaxiadis with support by Sibley to approve the minutes of the March Board of Review with a correction on Page 3 time to state 9: 00 A.M. not 3: 00 P. M> and the July Board of Review Minutes. All Aye Petition 1 Rachel Blevans& Josh Garber, 5146- 725- 05 PRE was filed late; Whetstone presented a Petition to grant the 2016, 2015, 2014 PRE. A motion was made by Eftaxiadis support by Sibley to grant the PRE for 2016, 2015, z7 2014 Motion passed. Petition 2 Darrell Wisneski: 5146- 725- 05 PRE was filed late; Whetstone presented a Petition to grant the 2017 PRE. Plus to add a Veterans Exemption which would take the Assessed Value from$ 38, 500 to 0 and the Taxable Value of$ 30. 787 to 0 a motion was made by Sibley support Kowalski Wilhelm by to grant the PRE for 2017 and to grant the Veterans Exemption. Motion passed. Petition 3 Nicole Bromley, 51- 211- 125- 03. Whetstone presented a petition to grant the PRE for 2017 & 2016. Motion was made by Eftaxiadis, support by Kowalski Wilhelm to grant the PRE for 2017& 2016. Motion passed Petition 4 Roy King, 51- 340-714-03 Whetstone presented a Petition to grant the 2017 PRE. A motion was made by Sibley with support by Eftaxiadis to grant the PRE for 2017. Motion passed. Petition 5 Jeremy Haner, 51- 341- 702- 03 Whetstone presented a petition to grant the PRE for 2017. Petition 10 Diana McFadzen, 51- 748- 714- 01 Requested a Veterans Exemption husband was 100% disabled but wife is not receiving a pension. Assessor Whetstone presented a Petition to for the Board to consider.. A motion was made by Eftaxiadis support by Sibley to deny the Veterans Exemption for 2017 because wife is not receiving a pension.. Motion passed. Petition 11 Marc Jones, 51- 748- 721- 05 Whetstone presented a petition to grant the PRE for 2017 & 2016. Motion was made by Eftaxiadis, support by Sibley to grant the PRE for 2017& 2016 Motion passed Petition 12 Susan- Niemiec, 51- 748- 732- 078 Whetstone presented a petition for Hardship Exemption. Motion was made by Eftaxiadis, support by Kowalski Wilhelm to deny a Hardship Exemption because applicant was over the Asset limit due to her part ownership in 51- 647- 703- 05. Motion passed Petition 13 James Volkema: 51- 770- 703- 01 PRE was not filed timely; Whetstone presented a Petition to grant the 2017 PRE. A motion was made by Sibley with support by Eftaxiadis to grant the PRE for 2017. Motion passed. Motion by Eftaxiadis with support by Sibley to adjourn at 9: 50 A.M., motion passed.
