MANISTEE CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION MINUTES OF FEBRUARY 14, 2012 The Manistee City Council met in a work session on Tuesday, February 14, 2012 at 7: 00 p.m., Council Chambers, City Hall, 70 Maple Street, Manistee MI 49660. MEMBERS PRESENT: Colleen Kenny, Catherine Zaring, Beth Adams, Bob Hornkohl, Sid Scrimger, Ilona Haydon MEMBERS ABSENT: Alan Marshall OTHERS PRESENT: Department Directors, Public and Media Discussion on Parks Maintenance Plan. During a past strategic goal process Council discussed the need to better identify long term maintenance costs and activities of various park areas. City Manager Mitch Deisch and staff created a concept to develop a maintenance matrix or chart to possibly be included in the Community Recreation Plan. Several concepts/ matrixes were presented by staff and reviewed by Council. Consensus: Council supported the concept and directed staff to work with the Parks and Beautification Commission to incorporate this maintenance concept into the Community Recreation Plan. Discussion on Capital Projects.Mitch Deisch, City Manager presented updates on the First Street Reconstruction, First Street Beach House, Fish Cleaning Station, Riverbank Sewer, and the Ramsdell Theatre HVAC. Regular updates will be made to Council throughout the construction season during work sessions. Council like the idea of regular updates. Discussion on Council Purchasing Policy. Mitch Deisch, City Manager reviewed the current Council Purchasing Policy. Consensus: Council discussed the policy and directed staff to set up a meeting with the Audit Committee to discuss CP# 13.
