PROCEEDINGS OF THE MANISTEE CITY COUNCIL— February 23, 2016
A special meeting of the Manistee City Council was called to order by her honor, Mayor Colleen Kenny
on Tuesday, February 23, 2016 at 6: 00 p. m. in the City Hall Council Chambers, 70 Maple Street,
followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.
PRESENT: Colleen Kenny, Lynda Beaton, Roger Zielinski, James Smith, Mark Wittlieff, Eric
Gustad, Robert Goodspeed
ABSENT: None
ALSO PRESENT: City Manager Thad Taylor
CITIZEN COMMENTS ON AGENDA RELATED ITEMS.
None received. x as
CONSIDERATION OF CITY COUNCIL STRATEGIC PLAN UPDATES.
The Alliance for Economic Success began the annual strategic plan update process at the Council Work
Session of February 9, 2016 and the process is scheduled to be continued this evening. At the work
session Council reviewed the mission / vision / purpose statements and began discussion on the
current goals to determine if they are still valid, and if not, eliminate or revise them. That process will
continue this evening.
Preliminary revisions to the plan were completed. Tamara Buswinka of the Alliance for Economic
Success will work on language for the first draft.
CITIZEN COMMENT.
None received.

a.) CONSIDERATION OF CITY COUNCIL STRATEGIC PLAN UPDATES.
The Alliance for Economic Success began the annual strategic plan update process
at the Council Work Session of February 9, 2016 and the process is scheduled to
be continued this evening. At the work session Council reviewed the mission /
vision / purpose statements and began discussion on the current goals to determine
if they are still valid, and if not, eliminate or revise them. That process will
continue this evening.
If the process is completed this evening, it is anticipated that the revised document
will come before Council at a future meeting for adoption.
IV. Concerns and Comments.
a.) CITIZEN COMMENT. This is an opportunity for citizens to comment on
municipal services, activities or areas of City involvement. Citizens in attendance
shall be recognized by the Mayor for comments (limited to five minutes). Letters
submitted to Council will not be publicly read.
