MANISTEE CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION MINUTES OF OCTOBER 11, 2016 The Manistee City Council met in a work session on Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at 7: 00 p.m., Council Chambers, City Hall, 70 Maple Street, Manistee, Michigan 49660. MEMBERS PRESENT: Colleen Kenny, Lynda Beaton, Erin Pontiac, Roger Zielinski, Robert Goodspeed, James Smith, Mark Wittlieff MEMBERS ABSENT: ALSO PRESENT: City Manager, Public Safety Director, City Attorney, Media, Public, Joe Hollander Public Comments. None Discussion on River Street Development. City Manager Thad Taylor will address the Council on a potential River Street Development at 400 River Street. A presentation was made by Joe Hollander on his proposed affordable housing project. Discussed his concept and various components to his plan including financing options, tax incentives and approvals that will be needed. The development process can be long, expensive and risky so Mr. Hollander wanted to get in front of Council early in the process to avoid any misunderstandings or deadline delays. CONSENSUS: Affordable housing needed in the community. Council looks forward to learning more as details are finalized. Adjourned at approximately 8: 20 p. m. Thad N.
