Comments madeonthestreetstobedoneontheNorthsidein2018,nothingproposedin2019,
somereconstructionw/stormtobedonein2020,in2022itsayTBD – couldQuincyStreetfallinto
thatcategoryorcanweswapanyprojectstoputQuincyonthelistearlier;understandstheAsset
ManagementPlanisdatadrivenbutconsiderthehumansideofthis –weowethepublic; requested
tohaveQuincyStreetaddedinthe2022planandmoveupearlierifpossible,2020?

Commented onfinancingvs.cashpurchasesofequipment,departmentcontributionstothemotor
pool,notatruepictureofdepartmentsuse;motorpoolisnotself-sufficientbuthasbeensuccessful
for20yearsandworkswellhowitis,otherwisebudgetswouldhavetobeadjusted.
PoliceInterceptor, mowerdecks,plowtrucks,vactor,andsewerservicetruckwerediscussed.
Questionedwhatisbeingdonetomaintainourfleetofvehicles;dowehaveanin-housemechanic
forallvehicles;wouldliketoseethepurchaseofvehiclesspreadoutmore;wanttomakesure
equipmentissafeandreliableforanyonedrivingthem;committedtofunding.

includedintheirFACforMERS; whydoweusevehicleallowancewhenthereisavehicletouse;
vehicleisnotalwaysavailable,employeesareencouragedtotaketheCityvehiclewhentravelingso
nomileagereimbursementispaid,ifvehicleisavailableandyoudon’ttakeit –nomileageispaid,

PERSONNEL
Health Benefits & MERS increase – 19%increase ininsuranceproposedinthebudget,areother
optionsbeinglookedat,areotherinsurancecompanies besidesBlueCross beinglookedatalso;
whereisthismoneycomingfromforincreasedpersonnelcosts.
DPWPersonnel –MikulaexplainedtheMDOTfundingofbridgepersonnel.

ALLIANCEFORECONOMICSUCCESS
Theircontractexpires12/31/17,wouldliketoonlybudgettothatdate,ifcontractisreneweda
supplementalappropriationcouldbemade,othersdisagreedandaskedwherewouldwebe
withoutthem;severalitemswerenamedthathavenottakenplacethatwere listedintheir
contract, exampleswerealsonamedofwhattheyhaveaccomplished; don’tfeelwearegetting
enough,wepayforitthroughtheCounty,weneedjobs,theyaremissingtheirobjective;hardto
quantifywhattheydo,weweretoreceiveahigherlevelofservice – whatisit;suggestedstarting
discussionsinJuneorJuly whetherwecontinuetocontractwithAES, couldtakehalfofthemoney
andputtowardssomethingelse; needmorecommunicationfromthem,needtoknowwhy
someonedidn’tcometoManisteeandhowwecanchangethat;needtoleavethedooropen.
