MANISTEE AREA P. G. E COMMISSION MEETING MINUTES March 22,2000 A regularly scheduled meeting of the Manistee Area P. G. E Commission was held on March 22, 2000 at 6: m. in the City Council Chambers at City Ha11, 70 maple Street, Manistee, Michigan. 00 p. MEMBERS PRESENT: G. Carlson, J. Mencazelli, E. Sutherland, M. Tillotson, E. Bush-Ex. Officio MEMBERS ABSENT: F. Balcer, A. Saad OTHERS PRESENT: Lonaine Carlson, Tex Collins, James Mencarelli The meeting was brought to order at approximately 6: m. by Carlson. There was a motion made 00 p. by Mencarelli, seconded by Tillotson to approve February 23, 2000 meeting minutes. Ayes-4 Nays-0 Channel update - Carlson reported that about 300 hours of prograrnming were run in the last month. He is complimented the middle school youth for the productions they are submitting. 2000 - 2001 Budget requests - The commission discussed a number of specific budget needs for the coming yeaz. Scrimger was directed to summarize in a memo to the City Manager. There was a motion by Mencarelli that the committee would assemble on a date to be negotiated and produce at least two educational videos to be put on channel two that would i.n form people on what channel2 is and community access television is and to solicit community input regarding channel2. Motion was seconded by Sutherland. Ayes-4 Nays-0 The committee agreed to meet Friday, March 31 from 3- M. for this purpose. 5 P. Mencarelli discussed preparing a grant application to send through the city to the Local Revenue Sharing Board. This grant would be for funds to develop a studio and related equipment so P. G. E could produce programs in house. The date of the next meeting was set as April 26, 2000 The meeting was adjourned at 6: 30 P. M.
