TREE COMMISSION MEETING P 22H MINUTES ANll- MAY 1,2006 ~ MEMBERS PRESENT: Pat Sagala, Mary Ann Johnson, Bob Johnson, Nicole Clyne, Pat Williams, Priscilla Rulison MEMBERS ABSENT: Pam Schindlbeck OTHERS PRESENT: Jack Garber, StaffLiaison Pat Sagala called meeting to order at 6: 00 p. m. OLD BUSINESS Tree Removal: Trees marked for removal or to be trimmed has been completed for the spring. Next tree cutting or trinuning will be this fall. GOOD OF THE ORDER None NEW BUSINESS Tree Planting 2006: Will not start this project till June. Advertisement will be in the News Advocate for bids in mid Ma.y.Trees will be approximately 5'_- 6' placed 2 diameter. Cost to residents will be $ 25.00 per tree. We need to stress the tall and 2'/ need to water trees to customers. A tree will be planted in Bob Davis's name for his years of service to the Tree Commission. Tree will be planted at the City Garage and have the newspaper on hand for picture. Pat Williams would like to see a Blue Spruce planted at the Manistee Armory to honor the Bravo Company. Pat will check with the armory to see if they would be terested in this. in. ChalkArt Contest will be held on Friday,June 30,2006 at the fountain Pine ( & River Street).Registration will be at 4: 3 0 p.m. and contest begin at 5:0 0 m. Age p. groups will consist of 5-6,7-8 and 9- 11. This year we will not have judges,we will draw names for prizes.
