City of Manistee Tree Commission Meeting Minutes July 8, 2024, 5:00 p.m. Manistee City Council Chambers Members Present Gerry Haw, Sam Coram, Vidar Lerum, Sarah Stevenson, John Helge Others Present Katie Trivisonno, DPW A meeting of the Manistee Tree Commission was called to order by Chair Helge on Monday, May 13, 2024, at 5:00 p.m. in council chambers at City Hall. Roll Call Approval of Agenda Approved. Citizen/Public Comment Mary Jo Gordon expressed her concern about a tree at the Ramsdell. Also, she would like to join the Tree Commission. Approval Minutes Approval of meeting minutes from June 17, 2024. Unfinished Business Recruitment of new members-Welcome Mary Jo Gordon. Tree Inventory update-Coram suggested each member catalog 20 trees per month. Consumers Energy tree planting grant is in progress. New Business Grants-Lerum gave an update on Michigan DNR Urban Forestry grant and the DTE Energy Foundation grant. Motion by Lerum to collaborate with the Manistee Conservation District, to assist with the grant writing process, second by Coram. All in favor. Motion passed. Adjourn Meeting adjourned at 5:32
